I have been working at Atkore International full-time

    Pros

Atkore has a solid leadership team which has implemented an outstanding performance driven culture based on the 5 core values of integrity, respect, teamwork, excellence and accountability.

Atkore has also implemented a world class business system which has driven strong financial performance. The company also makes a conscious effort to ensure that the employees at large have a high level of understanding of where they fit into the company's overall strategy.

Given that continuous improvement is also a key focal point of the overall culture, Atkore represents a great career enhancing place to work where employees grow through constant learning and development in a manner which represents a win win situation.

    Cons

With the significant improvement efforts driven by the current leadership team in recent years and the presence of a culture which demands continuous improvement, it can prove to be very challenging to continue to drive further enhancements on an all ready strong base, however this is a nice problem to have.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

There really isn't much to say here.

    Cons

Gave 2 weeks notice which was accepted, but they wouldn't honor the customary 2 weeks pay like most companies do. Don't bother with giving notice, they have no integrity.

    Advice to Management

Make a decision and communicate with people. People shouldn't have to wonder about their status for years at a time.

I have been working at Atkore International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Hourly employees are good teamworkers.
Reasonable hrs. Good vacations good hours moderate room for growth and acceptable facilities

    Cons

Management is dillusional, expect unreal expectations without adjusting or repairing what is needed. Poor benifits and pay. Management does not listen to the people

    Advice to Management

Quit putting personal vendettas before knowledge. Upper management is blind to most problems due to department mangers running interference. Only time anything gets looked at is if an employee talks to the plant mgr after going around department managers. Department managers do not reflect the mission statement

I worked at Atkore International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is cool, Unistrut Construction is a fairly small division which means you if you push hard enough you can dive into any division.

    Cons

Male driven and oriented. Yes, you can dive into any division if you're a man. The estimators are very lazy and spend most of their time streaming TV shows and this attitude towards work seems to be encouraged. If you like watching TV at work, great place to be,

    Advice to Management

Institute Lean Management through each department. ESPECIALLY estimating.
