Over worked and not enough pay
Aug 12, 2022 - Customer Service RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great Benefits Options, Off on the weekends if you work in the Call Center, off on majority of holidays exception the Emergency Response, which is 7 days a week and 365 days out the year.
Cons
Over worked. You are actually trained to take calls from customers, however the management will make you do all the positions including Emergency Calls, Verification, and Back Office Support Management doesn't care if you not comfortable doing another's departments work. There are times when employees processed an order incorrectly and was suspended for 3 days with no pay. Management doesn't care. Southern Company do not like to hire within the company. Management will hire someone in that position that has no experience. The only way to get a job or promotion based upon who you know. This place makes you feel like you are just a number and that's it. Management act like they care, but they don't. People are quitting in training classes because of the work environment. That is why the turnover rate is so high. Majority of everyone is trying to get out the Call Center. People are quitting due to finding another job or to work Downtown to get away from the Call Center due to it's more relaxed. This job is stressful. They will force you to work overtime. It doesn't matter if you have kids to tend to or if you have personal issues. If you get hired for anything that is Customer Service related, just make sure you have patience.

Great benefits & room to move up.

The culture of this company is extremely welcoming and diverse. There are plenty of internal organizations to join and volunteer opportunities.
Cons
It’s very hard to escalate within this company without a minimum of 5 years experience. There are some leadership challenges but nothing outside the normal.
