I have been working at Atlanta Metropolitan College full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The best reason to work at Atlanta Metropolitan is its students. Most are trying to better their situation in life. It can be a labor of love.

    Cons

Low pay. In fact, the lowest paid college professors in the USG system. As of the last five years, low enrollments, downsized faculty and staff. The college is in a transitory stage at present. New President, and the college may be in an upswing soon.

    Pros

Autonomy to teach the students in and outside the curriculum.

    Cons

Management has a "I don't care" attitude. As long as all the paperwork is submitted on time. Student growth is not a priority. Students are not "college ready."
