I have been working at Atlanta Public Schools full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

SMILES on most days; Clear and concise targeted school objectives per programming in clusters; Great benefits- state pension, 403b and 457– annuity and deferred payment; eager teachers, students, parents and admin to achieve a common goal: “ career and college readiness”; awesome instructional technology resources; Go-teams

    Cons

Sometimes the normal duties and responsibilities may become overshadowed by administratively motivated expectations — usually with CCRPI in mind; some collegiate level classes may become cluttered with questionable student and/or parent motivations; balancing real life with work if too far away from the school site; pay scale is off balanced as compared to surrounding districts ; adjusted daily schedules add tutorial and student project oversight to 8 not the 6 contracted classes
