Pros

AHF definitely offers so many great things for their residences. Some of those things are, Academic and Housing Scholarship, Credit counseling, Rent discounts for families with honor roll and those with perfect attendance. Workwise, just like any company you`ll have the up days, and down days but as long as you stay positive, you ll defiantly be okay.

Cons

Not having solid management, or great communication, or organization within some aspects where we definitely need the help, definitely can be stressful at times. But staying positive and creating change every day for a better and healthy community is always a reason to strive above any Con.

Pros

The ability to have a network of resources that are very beneficial available to me Bonuses/ Annual raises Access to Education opportunities at my fingertips

Sudden turnovers with no warning of lead staff Sense of no concern for safety of property staff; no security on property premises It is a disadvantage training at our own pace versus hands on training when my initial hire date started because some crucial things I need to know I don't learn until well after it is demanded Inability to have maternity leave unless working 1+ year

Pros

Love knowing that our work helps people that are in need of affordable housing. Also, like that the company and so far my experience with upper leadership has been very transparent and open. They truly abide by their core values that the company was built on.

Some processes, and systems are dated compared to other owner operators in the space. However, the company is always looking for ways to improve and welcome feedback.

Get to help fix residents apartments to give them a safe and comfortable place to live.

A lot of tasks to complete regarding feedback. I appreciate that HR wants and needs out feedback, but sometimes, it's overwhelming on top of our other job tasks.

Pros

The employees try their best but the support for the main office is horrible. The operations and HR are terrible. You have to be on the good side of individuals or they will find a reason to fire you.

They have core values and they preach about them all the time but they are not followed. Like a bunch of hippacrites. They just let go one of the best employees I have ever seen and she was with construction. She cared about the properties, tenants and worked harder than anyone in the company. They could not fire her so they came up with a lame excuse and got rid of her position but yet they have these meetings where they fly everyone to Dallas and put us all in rooms that are a thousand dollars a night and they can’t afford to keep her. She helped out and made our jobs much easier and she spoke the truth unlike half this company that lies to make themselves look good.

I've been the only maintenance staff member for over a month I dont have handitrac access to pull keys and it seems as if no one else does either I could use some more help I was hired to do turns, but haven't been able to because of short staff, so i've been doing work orders and sort of having to take the lead bc no else is We don't have a manager or maintenance supervisor I'm having trouble getting some work orders closed, bc some require vendors and they're not getting their proposals approved to do the work Haven't been able to get anyone to help order us some cabinet doors/drawers, we have quite a few units with missing doors and drawers in the kitchen and bathroom.
