    Pros

    At its best when they embraced the small town feel with community events and get-togethers. Flexibility to use nearly any low cost or free tool in your workflow.

    Cons

    Their 2017 turn to a more corporate and cold environment ruined my motivation to stay.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your employees and treat them as people. Morale is the most important metric for success.

    I have been working at Atlantic Tele-Network full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Lots of opportunity to learn and gain experience. Contributions are recognized by upper management and rewarded if you contribute and have a positive attitude. Immediate manager is supportive.

    Cons

    The office isn't great, no windows on upper level. No comfortable break room, dirt parking lot.

    Pros

    Great coworkers, and a good chance to get some initial experience.

    Cons

    - Employees aren't valued. - No empowerment by upper management. - Dead-end job, no advancement - Vastly underpay employees compared to market value

    Invest in people. Talk to your employees, you might learn something before making rash decisions that directly impacts those employees.

    It's pretty easy to get hired on.

    Cons

    Turn-over rate is high. You are working for 3 different company under one umbrella. So you are working with cellphone services, cable and in-home internet.

    Advice to Management

    Be more knowledgeable of the procedures when dealing with customers.

    Pros

    Middle management is often willing to listen to employee concerns.

    Cons

    Upper management often makes out-of-touch decisions without requesting input by employees that will be impacted. Also, they tend to make insulting assumptions about the knowledge base of their employees.

    Advice to Management

    It is staggering the number of incredibly talented employees I have watched leave ATNi over the years. With the right leadership you could have become a powerhouse in the industry.

      I had really great coworkers.

      Cons

      A lot of work, but the pay was not equivalent. They were always adding extra responsibilities, but did not want to compensate. The systems were not great and often went down.

      Advice to Management

      Make sure to hire managers who actually have experience managing.

      Pros

      Small company that has flexible policies that allow employees to manage their work life balance.

      Cons

      Upper management doesn't enforce any standards or process that would make the company more streamlined or more profitable. They buy software to try and make things better, but never enforce the use of it across the company, and so in a year or two the software is not used and they have spent millions on a product they don't use.

      Pros

      - ability to learn multiple telecom disciplines - supportive peers - good financials - good benefits and time off - autonomy (to a fault)

      Cons

      - very disorganized - lack of leadership from management - no vision from the top - abusive (verbally) management - more concerned with picking cheap Chinese vendors than doing things the right way - lack of new hires and backfilling of roles puts an extreme amount of stress on engineering

      Advice to Management

      Have a plan and execute it. Hire more people and attempt to retain talent by giving them the tools to succeed. This means no more cheap vendors and single points of failure with crucial systems.
