    Pros

Great people & atmosphere. Management loves sharing news to staff and announcements are often made at parties and town halls

    Cons

Salaries could be a bit higher. There could be a bit more training for related fields.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and keep on leaving creativity in the hands of the artists!

I worked at Atomic Cartoons full-time

    Pros

Well-meaning management, good people, good team

    Cons

High quota, pipeline was in development when I was there

    Pros

9-5, overtime at times but seems to be better now at least for bg department, had reputation of sweatshopping their artists. HR is professional, respondsible and prompt. Leads seem to know what they're doing. Good shows to work on

    Cons

Storyboarders and animators seem to get the worse schedules. Could do with better benefits and pay, as other locations are offering more just down the street.

    Advice to Management

better benefits, less overtime, better pay and you'll have better retention of employees

    "Nice and chilled"

I worked at Atomic Cartoons full-time

    Pros

    Good location, nice people overall.

    Cons

*Communication is not being taken super seriously, and although it is not a big place, sometimes feels like it. Chaotic process (when there is a process)
*Some people in management really screw up other people's work, don't communicate super well about their decisions, arbitrarily attribute work to themselves instead of discussing what could be done better.
*Lack of ambition, interest in R&D, no real will to do things better and improve.
*I was let go after three months without any kind of explanation, or warning, nothing, so I can't honestly say it's a good place.

Friendly people who value you and your work
    Dedicated management who care

    Cons

In the process of reorganizing buildings- upgrading to a bigger better workplace!
Needs more work at better communication within the studio

    Advice to Management

Keep growing and learning from the criticism- on route to a great future

I worked at Atomic Cartoons full-time

    Pros

Absolutely wonderful office culture and workmates. Everyone is willing to answer any and all questions and networking is effortless.

    Cons

Upper management appears in flux and desicions made at a project level are often overridden at a studio level, creating an air of miscommunication and deception. Doesn't seem malicious, just a little helter skelter.
100 hour work weeks without OT seems mandatory, or cajoled into. "Its the way of the industry" maybe, but not without some kind of compensation.

I have been working at Atomic Cartoons full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've worked at a number of studios and Atomic has by far been one of the best. Great leadership and amazing mentors. The management actually listen when you have a problem, and there are tons of talented artists that make me want to push myself to be better.

    Cons

Current workspaces are open concept and too cramped.... although, the studio is in the process of moving to a better space with more private meeting rooms. Yay!

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your employees. You are building something good!
Vancouver needs more animation studios that listen to their artists.

    Pros

A good place to start till you fall victim of politics and nepotism.

    Cons

Way too many jerks from nerd corps that force you to dumb down whatever you do.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to do background checks as many of us were shocked to see some new hires with a terrible character and bad reputation.
