    Pros

Work from home. Not much else.

    Cons

Unbelievable amount of mind numbing 'training' to use the servers. I spent four weeks doing nothing but watching videos and reading PDFs on how to access the system.

The offshore guys are CLUELESS. It's like they get any random Joe from the streets of India and say, "You want to be a linux administrator?"

I worked there for a total of six weeks and I *never* once touched a linux server. It was six weeks of

I worked at Atos full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work from home and decent salary.

    Cons

They lay off when sales aren't good to people that have nothing to do with sales. It was also based on years with the company, All the older workers were the ones that got laid off.

    Advice to Management

Laying off based on age is not a good concept.

I have been working at Atos full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Atos is a great organization with which to gain experience in a variety of IT fields, and frequently promotes from within. They are well organized.

    Cons

Budgetary concerns often undermine the organizations ability to stay competitive with retaining great talent and finding solid employees who don't immediately become flight risks with a little experience under their belt.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to invest in your people. Hiring contractors on permanently, providing comprehensive training, helping them to attain technical certifications: These actions will help to retain good talent as long as they see a career path within.

I worked at Atos (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Could work from home several days a week

    Cons

    - Contractors were month-to-month
    - Management was ill-suited for some of the positions they held.
    - Great example of the "Peter Principle" in action
    - Not a lot of stability
    - Actual offer of employment didn't meet what was promised at beginning of contract

    Advice to Management

Stop taking things away from employees (i.e., vacation time). This position was in US and many of the managers were from France/other European countries and really don't understand the differences in work environments. Give those working in US similar benefits (just as generous) as those that are given to those working in Europe.

I worked at Atos full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I can't list any. There is no community, no company events, no fun but low salary. It's suitable for older folks who are scared to loose their jobs and would do anything just to have one.

    Cons

This company is a joke. They have absolutely no idea what the position is they are hiring for. They just copy/paste job ads and expect you to do whatever comes your way no matter if it matches your skills and experience or not. In the job ad they listed Axure and Invision as a requirement, and when I actually started working for them and asked for these tools my manager said (at first he didn't even bother to answer, just ignored my requests) "we invest in those tools at a later stage" and "we can't buy it for you, it's company policy". Basically they expected me to use my own laptop and pay for any tool I needed if I wanted to do quality work since everything was blocked on the client's computer and they gave my an old HP laptop with dying battery without any design software installed. And when I raised my problems and concerns to my manager, the answer was: (quote) "We can find someone else in a very short period of time." Well, good luck with this attitude, I'm better off without you.

    Pros

When you're billable, they care just for weekly time sheets, other than that you're independent in your work as long as there are no complaints.

    Cons

When you're non billable, you days are numbered. You either have to have connections or have to look for a position for yourself. There is no recruitment/placement effort from the company. Apply on the company job site and you will never ever get any response. Most of the positions are old already decided or withdrawn.

    Advice to Management

You will not survive with the current resentment employees have towards management.
