I worked at Atrium Medical Center (More than 3 years)

    Pros

All around great employer. Great orientation and good staff. Training was good as well.

    Cons

No cons when I worked here. My only suggestion is that the pay is lower than other hospitals but it is still good.

I worked at Atrium Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    I can't think of any.

    Cons

Everything. The pay was very, very low as compared to other Hospitals in the area. The culture was a toxic place, and if you wanted to move up or advance you had to be "in" a clique. It was honestly like high school. I worked there for many, many years to constantly be treated like a dog. We went through a 3 year period of time where we did not get a raise at all. We also were constantly bombarded with more work, but with no incentive.
Upper management, especially the Director, who had almost no real nursing experience walks around with a coffee or pepsi in his hands, ignoring employees and patients and the real issues of what is happening on the units. The units are short staffed, but pull from other units making those units short staffed, and no one wants to pick up any extra hours because they are all burned out. Besides the director, the management there are all just looking out for themselves, and looking to advance their careers. It's always a mess and it's allowed to go on because everyone hangs on by a thread there, and as long as they everyone is hanging on, it doesn't matter,. Survived one more day. If you are looking for a place that cares about their employees, go somewhere else.
The pay is higher at Kettering, Trihealth ect..
The benefits are a joke for those who are working in healthcare, it is so expensive and they require you to go to Primer Health so that they can make you customers.

    Advice to Management

If you treated your employees well, then you would have a beautiful company with a caring, outstanding culture, because you have some amazing people working there, but you push them out the door.

I have been working at Atrium Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Kobricks has really good coffee

    Cons

Massive cuts being made. Doesn't matter the quality of employee. Seems as they are pulling names out of a hat. 30-50 administrative positions. Only the top and lowest paid are safe.

    Advice to Management

Wow, where to begin. Look beyond the figures on that excel report. How do you sleep at night.

I worked at Atrium Medical Center (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced, challenging. When patients do not eat you get the opportunity for free food

    Cons

If you have to interact with the nurses on behalf of the patients, good luck to you. at the time I was employed with Atrium there was a very toxic culture that treated the patients like a burden and not a responsibility. lots of time spent on cell phones instead of working

Nursing in general is stressful job so being in environment that is supportive is a plus in any company. The down side is long shift of twelve hours
