    Pros

A small group to work with .

    Cons

The executive management sometimes got down to a lot of micromanagement . Hopefully things have changed after the acquisition by Maquet

I have been working at Atrium Medical full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great staff to work with

    Cons

    commute distance was very long.

    Advice to Management

It would be helpful if management had a say on how much interns get paid.

I worked at Atrium Medical full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I met a lot of great people outside of the QC department and they did provide a lot of overtime. If you have a bachelors degree which I do, you will get suckered into applying for a specialist position but most people don't bother considering the pay is only a few more bucks.

    Cons

high turnover rate hence lots of overtime
    understaffed hence lots of overtime
    low pay
rude and unprofessional staff and higher management

    Advice to Management

Theres a reason for the high turnover rate in the department. Open your eyes. Don't expect blue collar professionals to work in a negative environment that is set by your upper management.

I have been working at Atrium Medical as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There are no good reasons

    Cons

Everything that you can imagine from manufacturing, Quality staff and engineering

    Advice to Management

Fire all upper management like John Lane and RCMT contracting firm and start over.

I worked at Atrium Medical as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The team was great. I didn't really feel like an intern but more like an entry level engineer. I was put on my own studies to conduct and had to present my work to senior level engineers.

    Cons

There was an FDA audit going on during the duration of my internship so everything was somewhat unorganized. There was a lot of times when I couldn't find someone to give me the direction I needed.

    Pros

Diverse product offerings, global structure, brand recognition, vision for the future.

    Cons

Terrible management, no room for advancement, salaries not competitive with industry/market.

    Advice to Management

Can't really think of any, not sure if the problems can be fixed.

I have been working at Atrium Medical full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed, casual, friendly, team oriented environment. The people who work at Atrium genuinely want to suceed and see the company suceed. This company has been growing and growing since opening their doors in 1981. Unexpected delights in some of the benefits like on-site massuse, exercise room and showers, summer hours, and an excellent 401(k) plan.

    Cons

No flexible work hours or telecommuting options, salaries not competitive to Massachusetts and their biggest competitors, management still struggles on the best way to manage their continued growth, and attract the best talent. Lack of ability to develop/mentor the employee base.

    Advice to Management

Look to the employee base to develop and foster talent from within. To compete with Mass look to create an environment that helps people achieve career goals and work/life balance - build in more flexibility.
