      Great company to work for

Nov 19, 2020 - Executive Coordinator in Atlanta, GA

      Pros

Company cares about its employees, the environment, and its reputation. It has brought on new management and completely upgraded it's compliance requirements.

      Cons

Company is going through a bit of restructuring and is trying to figure out who it wants to be. It closed all of its region offices and is running most everything through its corporate office instead. Hopefully they will realize this is a mistake and rectify this decision in the future.

Less than the sum of its parts

      Pros

Pay is reasonable. Working level people are sharp.

      Cons

Insurance is through Cigna and very expensive for the coverage it offers. This company is in the dark ages. The vacation tracker is an excel worksheet. I have never seen such an under staffed over worked IT division in my life. Projects that should take weeks drag on for years. There is a complete disconnect and lack of coordination between business units, with VW being the closest. Endless duplication at multiple levels between functions. Support from germany has single points of failure and management has a complete aversion to making decisions based on business sense. Strategic decisions are made with obvious lack of understanding of the automotive business. There is no relationship with regions or dealers.

      Lost company

      Pros

They let you work from home so many employees use that time to look for a new job. There are good people working here but the morale is bad. Salary is competitive.

      Cons

Kiss-up, kick-down culture of fear. The attitudes that caused Dieselgate are still alive and well here. People who speak up are fired or pushed out. Managers are mostly yes men and the few female managers are expected to do the dirty work of the male managers and act like office mom. Those who take time off to take care of their own real family are talked about behind their backs.

      Employee Review

      Pros

None, The pay is an not appropriate for the type of work you do.

      Cons

I worked for the company three years and unfortunately I can say I honestly do not recommend them to work for. you have to start training and at the end of training take a 20 page memorized warranty test otherwise you cannot advance to your position and you are not told that. additionally the screen your calls and insult you in a room by telling you that you’re not doing your job good enough. they lied to me many times and took away things that they had promised. I am ploy Ment there was never secure and they corporate shamed me as well as numerous other employees. It is not a safe workplace and I do not recommend anyone apply there or work there long term because there is no future and there is no respect or dignity from leadership. you are graded on your customer satisfaction surveys which have nothing to do with your performance and only have merit for the companies decisions on whether or not to give goodwill to customers which most of the time is denied.

Toxic Environment / Decline in leadership

      Jan 12, 2020 - General Manager/Director in Herndon, VA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Working on a luxury automotive brand Driving a variety of Audi and competitive vehicles (company car for level 10 and above) Office is well appointed and maintained When I started there was a feeling that we were building something Over a 10 year period, Audi has performed, but has sputtered as of late Professional environment, but this has it's negatives also (see below) 401K is good - 100% match up to 9% Healthcare wasn't as good as it used to be, but is competitive

      Cons

In an attempt to be "professional" the Audi work environment has become toxic. There is pressure to look a certain way, whether that be physically fit or wearing a hip tailored suit. The VW people call the Audi floor "the fashion show". It's even known within VW HR. At first glance, this could be taken as humorous, but it's deeper than that. It has become image over substance. Gossip is pretty rampant. It can be very mean spirited and ranges from cutting down someone's appearance, making fun of their personal social media account, or criticizing work---even if that work is excellent. VPs are even ridiculed behind their backs. What's disturbing is some of this gossip finds its way to the VP level and shapes their impressions of individuals and teams. The current crop of senior management----with a few exceptions----are yes men. They are relentlessly driving the organization to hit certain numbers without any regard for the external competitive situation or the market. Work life balance doesn't exist for some departments. Professional Development feels more like a robotic filling out of a forms for succession planning vs genuine skill improvement. Morale is low. There was leadership stability for years, but since October 2018 there have been 3 Presidents of Audi of America. One lasted just 6 months. I think the road will continue to be rocky. HR department. Don't be fooled they are there to protect the company, not help you. Lots of turnover in HR as well. Maybe they saw too much? Add in that salary is just average and you really need to love cars to want to work for this organization. My advice: work somewhere else and make more money. Buy your own luxury car.
