    Pros

Friendly, positive, inviting atmosphere (for the most part). Open learning environment for those wanting to get experience in finance - especially Frontier & Emerging markets. Good people, usually willing to take the time to talk / teach / grab a beer.

    Cons

Some bad apples. Mundane menial work at intern level. limited opportunity for upward mobility.

    Advice to Management

More value placed on interns / research department

I worked at Auerbach Grayson as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get to meet very experienced people, their guidance is invaluable.
Interns have lunch with the CEO at some point during the internship
Work-life balance - Only 4 days of work.

    Cons

The work is not very challenging. This is not a typical finance internship, but there is opportunity to access to many research reports and Bloomberg
The salary is really low as per New York standards
It does not convert into a full time job.

    Advice to Management

More opportunities for interns would be nice

I worked at Auerbach Grayson as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly people to work with

    Cons

There isn't so much responsibility of the interns. We tend to so the same thing over and over again and you don't learn much

    Advice to Management

Please provide more responsibilities for interns

I worked at Auerbach Grayson full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Intellectually stimulating. The culture is coopreative instead of competitive. The sales people help one another. Management encourages the sales folks to think for themselves instead of pushing the party line. Also, the connections to the local brokers were so valuable to understand what was happening on the ground. Also the management encouraged the sales people to travel abroad to get first-hand knowledge of each situation.

    Cons

We were working with some very new markets where research was at its infant stage. So we had to work closely with the new analysts to produce high quality fundamental reports. It could have been a negative, but ended up being a positive because the sales people developed a better understanding of the local companies as a result.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
