I have been working at Augmedix full-time

    Pros

Augmedix is an amazing employer, one that sees and actively engages growth in their employees but also offers fulfilling work that you can feel proud of. Be good to the company and the company will be good to you, during and after employment with them.

    Cons

Like any startup, this company has had its fair share of negative moments, but that comes with the territory.

    Advice to Management

Stay hands on with your employees, and continue listening to the feedback.

I worked at Augmedix part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - The senior documentation specialists who taught me were very welcoming and patient.
    - You have a manager assigned to you who has a smaller team than the higher ups, so your concerns can be discussed more readily.

    Cons

    - Work can become monotonous, which you can expect from any scribing job.
    - You do shadow and learn from doctors' interactions with patients, but it's difficult to talk with the docs about anything other than work. You can only chat with them, unless they offer to talk with you on the phone, which some docs want to do to make note-writing easier.

    Pros

Experience working in a medical tech startup. Fastpaced and exposure to many departments.

    Cons

Constantly pivoting, refocusing, and wasting resources. Extremely nearsighted.

    Pros

Scribes tend to stick together especially if they were in your cohort. It was nice to have that support.

    Cons

Pure nepotism in the company. Poorly run with a self absorbed CEO.

    Pros

-Lot of opportunity for movement throughout the company
    -Weekly lunches
    -Classic startup culture
    -Cool Google Glass tech

    Cons

-A bit of nepotism/favoritism in promotion strategies. If you were friends with the right people you were fine but otherwise at risk of layoffs.

I worked at Augmedix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to acquire or build professional experience, be surrounded by incredible bright people and work for a mission driven company.

    Cons

Be prepared to earn your keep, demonstrate your value and push for your own advancement--no one is going to hand you a raise or give you a promotion without some serious politicking/self advocacy. Comp is historically low. Burnout is an issue if you don't know how to create clear boundaries.

    Advice to Management

Do more to build a culture, be more generous, reward your top talent to improve retention. Be open to feedback--even feedback you don't want to hear. Improve relations with vendors/partners abroad. Implement more AI.

I worked at Augmedix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    somewhat stocked fridge
    eat club once a week
    pretty lenient on vacations

    Cons

Horrible working conditions for scribes. Depending on their doctor, they'll work through lunch, not go to the bathroom and stay late. Transparency is lacking from people that work in upper management and those that are scribes, performance specialists and training specialists. The company tried to scale too quickly and sacrificed quantity over quality. After a random layoff of employees, they began hiring for the same positions months later. This company is very disorganized and I would recommend looking for medical/healthcare experience elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent. Value the scribes that work for you.
