I worked at Aurora Systems Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A boutique technical consulting firm that afforded its people a lot of autonomy and freedom.
Family style feel to the team.
    Professional atmosphere.

    Cons

Over the last few years there seemed to be too much turnover in management. There were unclear goals and expectations around the responsibilities of certain team members.

    Advice to Management

Firmly establish goals and responsibilities for all members of the team.

    Pros

Great people and very flexible work environment / schedule. You are given lot's of freedom with your work. Once given a task, it's up to you how to get it done.

    Cons

There was a lack of communication within the company. Very little information would flow from top to bottom and from department to department.

    Advice to Management

Understand your resources (employees, team, departments). Each team and person has a wealth of knowledge, use their strengths. Allow them to excel at what they do best.
