I worked at Austin Gastroenterology full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The CEO is fabulous, but semi- retired

    Cons

    It is a clickish environment

    Advice to Management

Establish firm guidelines and rules that apply to all. You have people who have been there from the start that you give preference to, rather than preference being based on merit. Cut the slackers.

    Pros

Flexible schedule options. Fair pay rate. Great group to work with/for. Excellent communication from management. Management open to new ideas/suggestions. Go home with a feeling of having contributed something important.

    Cons

The only downside to working for Austin Gastroenterology are that the shifts are 10-12 hours per day but only 3-4 days a week. If working more than 8hrs per day is not possible for you then the schedule fit could be a challenge.

    Advice to Management

As with all businesses communication throughout multiple levels of staff is important. Although I think Austin Gastroenterology does a far better job than most places, additional communication can often go a long way in putting employees in a mindset of feeling like part of what is happening.
