Pros
I really enjoyed the last couple of years at Austin & Kat. They gave me a chance to switch careers (previously restaurants) and I'm grateful to them for being open-minded and giving me a shot. The team is small, passionate, dedicated, and incredibly supportive. The atmosphere is vibrant, mostly positive, and it was a pleasure to come to work every day. The work atmosphere, while sometimes intense, is motivating. It genuinely feels like everyone's working towards a common goal, and it’s refreshing to be in such an environment. My role in sales support provided me with invaluable experiences and insights. The dynamic nature of the job, coupled with the unique challenges presented, greatly expanded my skill set. Witnessing and being a part of the company's journey through its organizing phase was a professional experience I will always cherish. The challenges and the learning that came with it are unparalleled. To sum it up: my time at Austin & Kat has been an invaluable chapter in my professional journey.
Cons
The environment can be a bit chaotic at times and sometimes be overwhelming. With the company still in its organizing phase during my time, there were instances where processes seemed convoluted but we had the chance to sort things out and improve, set SOPS's and make it better. Turns out I really liked this part of the job. Packing orders...it wasn't really my thing but I helped out. Growing is great, but when staff were out it made for some manual grind.

Pros
Clear Mission: We're all aligned on this—helping pets lead better lives. Our company's mission isn't just a tagline; it's the heart of what we do, and it shows. Quality Products: Our supplements are top-notch. We use premium ingredients and rely on evidence-based formulations. Trust me, the reviews we get from customers are amazing and it's a real lift realizing that what we do helps dogs (and cats) Inspirational Leadership: Kat sets the tone for the company. Her resilience and commitment are energizing for all of us and over time the management team have grown from pretty disorganized to getting their ducks in a row. Great Team Dynamic: We're a close-knit team, and the morale is better than ever. Any hurdles we've faced, we've overcome together. And let's be honest, who wouldn't want a workday filled with passionate pet discussions? Work-Life Balance: Yes, it gets busy, especially since we're a growing startup. But the flexibility offered here is invaluable.
Cons
Every company has its growing pains. We had a phase where the team dynamics were off, and setting up the new facility was honestly brutal at times but that's behind us. We've filtered out the noise and are focused on the mission again.

Pros
This is an early-stage startup, if you are looking for opportunity and flexibility to define your role, make an impact, and grow professionally this is a great place for you Everyone is genuinely caring and compassionate about helping pets Throughout COVID, management took a significant pay cut to ensure no company-wide layoffs. They also made it clear that everyone should create space to care for their physical and mental health, through empathy and flexibility with taking time off. The leadership genuinely cares and wants to help. Independent pet stores, distributors, and pet parents absolutely love the product with heart-warming stories of how Austin and Kat has changed their pet's life. No joke, over 95% of all reviews are 5-stars.
Cons
This is a small team, with a big heart, and greater ambitions. It is not uncommon to find yourself changing/shifting what you are working on without a large notice as the company responds to changes in the markets and black swan events. If you want to do the same thing every day, every week, be advised that this environment may not be a good fit. Communication is not perfect as decisions are made quickly with changes quickly following. With any company this small with folks who care this much, you will encounter stress.

Pros
All the staff are really eager to collaborate and create cool things that genuinely benefit the lives of people and pets (reading reviews is the best way I remind myself of this). It’s great to see a project come to life and you truly can have any vision turn into something real. The brand is constantly growing, changing, and creating new product lines, and it’s really exciting to be around and help influence. Kat leads the brand and women are typically the majority in the office which is awesome There are always lots of opportunities for me to challenge myself, work in new areas, introduce ideas, and grow as a person. New projects are always encouraged. Great covid precautions as much of the team are virtual and I can choose when I’m in the office. Overall a positive experience and has challenged me in lots of great ways and been an interesting and valuable place to work.
Cons
Help is always there, but you need to actively pursue it and be the driver of the project/task you're working on.

Pros
* Room for Growth * Good pay * Owner actually cares about animals' well being so she makes her product with genuine care. * Owner cares about her employees and treats them as family. * Opportunities to travel * Get to see dogs often
Cons
*During my time here, CBD wasn't federally legal yet which posed some difficulties when trying to cater to customers who lived in states that deemed it wrong. It was frustrating not to be able to help those who wanted it. But it's federally legal now, so that shouldn't be an issue anymore!

Pros
Great mission: we're here to help pets. We do things properly and don't take short cuts. Awesome products: our product reviews say it all. We've built a reputation making the best supplements for pets because we start with the best ingredients, have formulations that use leading science, and care about all our customers. Inspiring (female) leader: not sure what is wrong with some of the down comments by people especially calling out the lack of women in management when Kat's the founder and namesake. Enough said. Brilliant team: the people here are honestly really nice to work with and cohesive. Problems are solved, the territorial nonsense we experienced in 2020 has gone and we're back to doing what we do best and helping customers. Startup life: work can be intense, so there are busy times, and in COVID as a smaller company it's been a little scary, but on the flip-side we're given a lot of flexibility with time off.
Cons
Any company will experience growing pains, have some questionable hires, and then have to choose the right path and culture . For a period of time there were staff that didn't belong and brought an unbelievable amount of negative energy. We're a small team and the adage "a few bad apples" sums things up, but once they left things got way better and morale was restored.
