    Pros

    - Good cafeteria facilities
-Good brand name if you would like to apply with other companies
    - Have various opportunities to move across other departments

    Cons

    - Hidden bullying culture
-Work flexibility is only available for management or special circumstances. Not common
    - Too focused on policies and procedures that do not work as there are too many internal problems across various departments
    - Rude people

    Advice to Management

-Genuinely care and respect your employees.
-Focus on outcome instead of blindly following guidelines and procedures. Need to learn how to think outside the box
-Be more flexible with KPI's - due the amount of internal problems within ANZ it can actually take up much more time and effort just to fix the errors being made by other employees.
Employees with good KPI's on paper are probably the ones that do not care or do not give much thought on the work they do.
It is not fair to penalize employees who actually resolve the problems.
More time taken = lower KPI's
These employees prevent your bank from potential fines and from losing customers.

    Pros

Highly unprofessional, irresponsible & uneducated HR team
Must go back to college and study HR again.

Keep on scheduling telephonic interviews and keep cancelling it at will by asking people to empty their time slots.

    Advice to Management

Please replace your HR team with new intelligent, hard working people.

    Pros

Best place to go to if you want to retire after having constantly buttered up to the Aussies. Otherwise no pros at all!

    Cons

Highly racist company. Keep all key positions to their own people - Aussies. View Indians as inferior. All very understated, but scratch the surface and you will find it.

    Advice to Management

To India Management - Grow a spine! Stand up for your people, and stop sucking up the Aussies all the time, even when they are being racist in your face.

    Pros

Good work life Balance. Fairly decent compensation with annual remunerations.

    Cons

Not flexible in terms of working from home. Unfriendly. Complacent. Uninviting of innovations. Senior management is narrow minded and petty. Focus on administrative work rather than actual work. Poor infrastructure in terms of computers and desk space. Too much time spent on management & recruitment politics.

    Advice to Management

Please work on the above cons.

I have been working at Australia and New Zealand Banking as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful clients, who will recognise hard work, which is most important. There is not many other pros for this department in particular , there's more cons than pros. However other internal stakeholders within ANZ are great to deal with, eg Melbourne based areas ANZ customer and phone assist, Internet banking , commercial cards.

    Cons

Immature work environment. Managers/ Private bankers , Associates under new restructure, do not take ownership of their errors, tend to pass the buck to subordinates. Bullying culture exists among some Private bankers not a great place to work, long term period.

    Advice to Management

CEO and Executives need to know what is truly occurring in PB culture. PB Senior management are not doing enough to stamp out the bullying culture that exists within NSW PB.

I have been working at Australia and New Zealand Banking part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

everyone clocks out right on the dot and no one wants to stay back including managers. Reasonable pay in comparison to other industries. Good work life balance if you are assertive and know how to say no.

    Cons

Everyone only looks out for themselves. It is like walking into a pit of snakes. People talk and you cannot trust anyone in this company because what they say to your face is different to what they say to other colleagues and management. Very little opportunity for growth within the company unless you have the ability to suck up to your manager on a daily basis or are a jock and can join the boys club. If they offer you extra work with an assurance of over time on saturdays do not take it as they only pay 1.25 instead of 1.5 like other workplaces.

    Advice to Management

If I had to give any advice to management it would be the following; stop acting like highschool teenage girls and actually be clear and concise when conveying messages to staff in regards to changes within the area, poor performance or changes to the company. You need to work on your manners and your attitude towards others. Putting on a smile is always appreciated but not when it is hiding the truth because you keep everything in the managers group and never tell the truth to your staff. We all left highschool but it appears at ANZ that anyone who is in a management position, has not.
