I worked at Australia and New Zealand Banking full-time

    Pros

Their compensation and benefits are good. They are really a company that is implementing diversity

    Cons

Poor in assisting former employees and not reliable. I submitted my clearance on November 4, 2015 and was told that I will get my final pay after 30 business days. So I sent a message middle part of December 2015 to check the status and I was told that it was not processed hence the wait for another 30 business days. I contacted them on January 10, 2016 and they advised for the second time that it was not processed and they did not even apologize for it. They told me that my request will be placed under urgent. I checked again on February 2016, I sent them an email but no one is responding until I receive an email from their payroll that my final pay is still in Finance and they are waiting for it to be released, this notification I received 2 weeks ago. It is the 4th month already that I am waiting for my final pay and until now I have not received any updates and I sent them another email to follow up but they are not answering. For those who are interested in applying in this company think twice. They are just good to you when you are currently working for them but once you leave the company this is how they will treat you

    Advice to Management

Please dont give a false hope or misinformation in all aspects

I worked at Australia and New Zealand Banking as a contractor

    Pros

ANZ has some great staff that I really got on well with in the Markets division of the company. They are a big organisation with lots of money to spend on infrastructure and they pay fairly well too.

    Cons

It is incredibly slow and boring trying to get any change made to products. Management are only interested in protecting their own reputations and running turf wars between many competing products that all do mostly the same thing.
They took years to upgrade their websphere version, in fact it took them so long that the version that they were upgrading to was obsolete before they even got there.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to unify your product suite and form a cohesive long term roadmap that allows team to cooperate with each other and give definitely guarantees about what they can deliver each other and by when.

    Pros

Well resourced, strong and loyal client base.

    Cons

Old systems, processes need complete overhaul, paper based files for audit requirements - yes this is 2016 guys !!!

    Advice to Management

Eternal restructuring undermines the stability of the business - stick to one strategy and commit to reasonable timeframe to implement and then see results. Revolving door on personnel side is a great concern and indicates poor people leadership - need the right people in key roles.
