I worked at Australian Football League full-time

    Pros

4 x Silver AFL memberships worth more than $2000 Good work parties - end of season party is pretty big Some great people in AFL Media HR tries to engage its staff with lunches and other events

    Cons

Salary is poor and nowhere near the market - the AFL takes full advantage of people who love footy and make you feel like it's a privilege to work there at all. Bonuses are a joke - the executive takes home hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonuses while most other staff take home less than $2000 even when exceeding KPIs. Very poor career opportunities. Still a very old-school, male dominated workforce and Poor work flexibility and family needs are all but ignored.

I worked at Australian Football League full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This company truly is like a family - most people care about and are active in their coworkers' lives. It's also heartening to see the real difference AFL Queensland makes in the wider community through football.

    Cons

Unfortunately the pay is quite poor comparatively and many people work weeks on end with no breaks during finals season.

I worked at Australian Football League

    Pros

You get to drive the game forward if you are inclined to afl Some very good people there doing what they can and working passionately

    Cons

Bullying culture toughens you up pretty quickly and you need to watch your back to some extent esp more senior people from what I saw - culture may be changing now (needs to)
