I worked at Autism Behavior Intervention full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They provide strong training when you start so that you don't feel thrown into the job. You also get to see supervisors for ongoing training and support. Being a part of the kids' progress is amazing.

    Cons

You have to be comfortable with being observed and getting feedback. Traffic to get from one client to the next can be frustrating, though they do try to schedule people so they're not driving too far.

I have been working at Autism Behavior Intervention full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Making a difference in someone's life! It's an awesome feeling to know that I helped someone learn a new skill. Some days can be tough, but overall it is a very rewarding job!

    Cons

Last minute cancellations, fill-ins can be far from home. But I understand that the scheduling department is just trying to keep our hours up and make sure the kiddos have a sessions.

I have been working at Autism Behavior Intervention full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Intensive training, working outside an office, hands on experience. Great service for the clients. Provide CPI training and RBT training.

    Cons

Hourly pay shifts down to minimum wage when supervisor is present, driving, or doing office hours. Administration has high turn over rate as well as miscommunication. Benefits are costly. Some clients can be extremely demanding and take a toll physically and emotionally. Schedules are given less than a week in advance. Schedules can have large gaps between clients. You may have to work Saturdays to be full time.

    Advice to Management

Pay skills trainers more, and offer more raises as trainers gain experience. Lower the cost of benefits. Offer time off after incident reports.

I have been working at Autism Behavior Intervention for more than 8 years

    Pros

A hardcore ABA atmosphere. ABI is very organized and detailed oriented. You will learn a lot. The sups love their jobs. You will see all kinds of kids on the spectrum.

    Cons

Heavily micromanaged. The job itself makes it difficult to know your co-workers.
