Pros
AST is a wonderful company that provides support to children diagnosed on the autism spectrum, as well as their families. Intervention/therapy services are grounded on the science of applied behavioral analysis, which teaches children how to replace inappropriate behaviors with more acceptable behaviors in order for them to lead to most functional life possible.
Cons
Low pay, however in a job like this, you do it for the children not the pay. Worth it.
Thank you for sharing your great experience working with us and serving our wonderful families! We are so glad your time with us was meaningful. Just like to share that we have regular pay evaluations for staff, and are very proactive about professional development and advancement for opportunities. Wishing you all the best in your professional journey!

Stress, pressure, and abuse from management
Nov 29, 2022 - Behavior TherapistRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Decent wages, willingness to sponsor some employees for visas (not applicable to me), benefits were reasonable compared to industry.
Cons
Poor and low employees morale. High turnover rate, people were leaving at all levels, and they didn't seem to care about matching offers. Inferior quality of service due to stress, pressure, and abuse from management. You will be sold a dream and will encounter a reality of dead-end opportunities.

Glad the you felt our pay was fair and appreciated the benefits. It is true that our industry is one that sees high turnover. This field is not for everyone but for many it is a career they love. We pride ourselves on having caring, supportive leadership (most of whom have worked their way through our ranks and been mentored to do so). We are a culture centered around respect for all people and growth for all. We encourage all staff to bring any and all concerns to their supervisor. I hope you found a good match in your new role.

Pros
You’ll really really really love it
Cons
Resistance from American tyranny is vital

While we are so glad you really love your job (really, really), the comment about tyranny seems misplaced. There is no place for power plays in our culture which focuses on collaboration and the lifting up of those around you. Perhaps you are jesting or trying to be playful? In all seriousness, if you have any issues or concerns, please address them with your supervisor. Thank you.

We are glad you appreciated the pay and saw your time as a valuable stepping stone. We encourage all our staff to bring concerns and goals to their supervisor so they can be supported in their growth and satisfaction. Most of our leadership came up through our ranks (starting as BTs) and we are passionate about creating pathways to growth. I'm sorry that was not your experience. We wish all the best in your new work!

The work you do there is amazing. Bonding with the kids and families is a very worthwhile experience. The training did end up preparing me well enough. If you like to work alone and not see a supervisor daily, this is for you.
Cons
You're put into the field and left to figure it out. I saw mine once a month. Lots of driving, its not priority for them to make your routes make sense.
