Pros
This company really cares for their clients and I've learned so much just by being on the field and working with different children. Training helps a ton and teaches you exactly how to utilize software.
Cons
There are limited hours and we don't get paid the same base rate when clients cancel. Despite having experience and a degree, I'm only paid the starting pay rate.

Good as long as you butter up the right people
Feb 14, 2023 - Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Large company= support for HR,IT, trainings etc.
Cons
This company is a clique environment. If you are friends with the right people, you will go places. Experience, tenure or actual qualifications don’t really matter. Feedback you may give will be met with punitive action in some way in the future. If you are hired on because you have friends in the right places, you will likely be fine. If not, prepare yourself to look elsewhere or to be pushed around as a pawn.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at AST. Great mentorship by my supervisor and directors. Loved the toy room and level of support on all front.
Cons
Hours were tough as I worked the late-late shift, but that's where most of the needs are with the kids and families.

Terrible company led by an ineffective management
Mar 15, 2023 - Behavior TechnicianRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You'll regret working here, so I advise you not to.
Cons
You'll regret working here. This is a terrible company that is led by ineffective management. The managers have awful attitudes, and they are very disrespectful and condescending toward us employees. Avoid this company if possible. Employees don't deserve this kind of horrible treatment anyways.

The kids are great
Aug 26, 2022 - Behavior Technician in Harahan, LARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The kids are obviously the biggest part of the job and the best part of the job. Seeing them finally master a skill is the rewarding part as well as the bonds you form with each of them. The coworkers are like a dysfunctional family sometimes but that is to be expected when you have many personalities in one place. Overall though, they have your back and most importantly they have the kids backs. For the most part, everyone is willing to help you! Management could use some ( a lot) of work but they are also willing to hear to hear your concerns and help in anyway they can. Bottom line: This is a hard job. Show up and do your job. If it’s too hard—quit. Don’t ruin it for the kids and the people who actually want to be there.
Cons
The pay is inconsistent High turnover rate No lunch breaks (you eat when the kids eat)
