Great Company!
Nov 24, 2020 - Occupational Therapist in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
An overall supportive company that provides guidance and mentorship to employees. It’s also gratifying to watch my clients progress in their social, adaptive, and communication skills within their family and community.
Cons
Variable hours can affect scheduling for full-time.

Supervisors need to be more consistent with communication
Aug 5, 2019 - Behavior Interventionist in Bellevue, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Pay was more than my previous job In the beginning I got overtime on every paycheck
Cons
They make you feel really supported during training and during maybe your first client then the communication is dropped off to almost nonexistent. Supervisors fail to pass on crucial information that can affect sessions or relationships with client parents. Inexperienced BI's are often guinea pigs for extremely difficult clients that have never had services before. Don't ever make any kind of comments about drive time. They'll take you from 40+ overtime to barely getting enough hours to qualify for benefits or money to pay your bills. New BI's are given client priority over employees that have worked there longer. If there's a gap in your schedule it'll be there for months. I often felt chastised by my supervisor and that they left out information because they didn't like me.

Not the best opportunity to make a difference
Jul 21, 2021 - Behavior TechnicianRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Benefits included room for growth within the company as well as interactions with clients. It was also an amazing experience being interested in Psychology.
Cons
Communication between the team(s) was little to none- leading to frustrations within the program, daily job. The moment I got severely ill with still searches for a diagnoses, this company “lost contact” for 6 months meanwhile I had no unemployment, ended up homeless, and was left unanswered for months after seeking contact. It made the months of working hard and putting aside horrible communication not worthIt made the months of working hard and putting aside horrible communication not worthIt made the months of working hard and putting aside horrible communication not worth it.
Continue readingThank you for reaching out with your concerns. I'm sorry to hear that you have been ill. The last year has been difficult for everyone, and we really do value all of our employees. Without knowing the specifics of your situation, it is challenging to give a detailed solution. However, if you reach out to your Clinical Director or our Human Resource department (hr@autismtherapies.com) they should be able to help you understand your employment options. We love when previous employees come back to work with us again and I'm sure they would be happy to hear from you.

Changes to schedule
Nov 11, 2016 - Advanced Behavior Interventionist in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I was offered cases constantly. I had full-time hours. Organized teaching methods for children and parents.
Cons
Lacked communication withLacked communication withLacked communication with scheduling and behavior interventionist. Scheduling department will make changes to behavior interventionist scheduling with a one day notice. Poor communication with HR. When I placed my two week notice I human resources department did not inform me that they had mailed my last paycheck via FEDEX while I was still working for AST. I had to call FEDEX ask them to hold it at a station so I can pick it up myself.

I am happy to hear that you appreciate our teaching methods and that your schedule created the hours you wanted. We have worked over the past year to create more opportunities for our staff to manage their own schedules. I firmly believe this practice will continue to create more positive experience for our staff and families. I am very sorry to hear about the confusion and inconvenience that was experienced with your final paycheck. I will certainly be sharing this feedback with our team to see where we might improve our communication and the exit experience. Thank you for the feedback. Good luck in your future endeavors. - Justin

Pros
knowledgeable staff and a group of hardworking people.
Cons
Communication among departments especially the clinical side vs admin side could be better.

I would agree. We have some of the most dedicated, kind, passionate and supportive people!

Pros
Most of the BIs are nice. The kids are awesome and fun to work with.
Cons
Hours often get cut with no replacement. Weeks go by without a new client to help with income. Alt sessions are few and far in between. Scheduling is not strategic, often feels like people are just slapping things together without considering other options for BIs. Communication is lacking. Zero company transparency. Too many Bis and not enough clients. Further education is required to move up (i.e. Masters or PhD)

Company really cares about staff and families. They are really good with updating schedule on time and communicating with employees. You also get to see the progress children make every day and truly make a difference!
Cons
Families may cancel last minute so make sure to have an open line of communication. You can always make up hours so that's always an option!
