AST provides excellent training and development. They are committed to being a top service provider. They also make changes to policies when appropriate to benefit the employees. Supervisors are on your side and will do what they can to help you if you are struggling. They support growth within the company to employees looking to become supervisors and board certified behavior analysts. Very professional and organized organization. Open door policy. Most everyone is very friendly.
Cons
Raises are nearly non-existent (one every 2-3 years). If you do get a raise, it will be very little (about .50 an hour). This job is not for everyone; it can be filled with very difficult clients; it can be as equally rewarding as it is challenging. Unless you want to become a supervisor, there is no real room for growth. You can become an advanced behavior therapist; but the increase in pay is negligible. Hours of work can be extremely low in the summer and when school is on break for the winter. It is not uncommon to have 10 hours or less per week during the summer. There will also be times when you are on your way to work and you will receive a call that your session has been cancelled because your client is sick; you will then be paid less than half your regular rate. If they are sick for a few days and there aren't cases that need coverage, you will not get paid.

Salary Great supervisors Good co workers
Cons
Do not prioritize employees at all of it interfered with what the clinic needs. They severed all pay and benefits during the shut down for COVID-19. Basically told us to go screw ourselves until this blows over. Makes you feel very disposable and a horrible Showing of the true colors of This company.
Continue readingWe as an organization are taking the COVID-19 outbreak very seriously and our top priorities are the health and safety of our staff and families. Our centers are still open and we are offering home based services, while implementing the strictest safety precautions. We have hours available if you would like to work, or you have the option of going on leave if you do not want to work in the interest of your health. Your benefits are frozen as is, so you will not lose your benefits. We want to get through this difficult time as best as possible with the least amount of impact to our staff. As always, please reach out to your Clinical Director for questions specific to your situation. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to our clients.

Pros
Great to work for. Flexible and the best pay around this area. They've grown considerably but have always strived to take care of their employees.
Cons
Week to week the hours can be extremely inconsistent. It's not necessarily the company's fault but more a product of the field itself.

Love it so far
Sep 22, 2020 - Behavior Technician in San Diego, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
So far I have had 2 great sups! they do errorless learning which makes me want to do even better. If you like seeing kiddos progress, this is rewarding and company is invested in cx success. Great training material.
Cons
-scheduling availability, wish they would stagger the schedules so someone is always available via phone as services run to 8pm. At my old job they had a system that would track if our scheduling dept didn't pick up (a certain percentage), unless staffing is the issue Id say invest in this. - even with the best time management you will end up working on your off time (no pay). There is admin time for meeting with sup but bot for cx related/admin related, session related work. you sometimes feel like you are working for free. Example: scheduling is not available for evening session you need to call the next day you don't start until 12pm, you get an email saying you didn't convert, worse if your issue is on a Friday afternoon they usually don't pick up. You can send an email but honestly I have been discouraged because I get a generic template email that doesn't address what I need. so you will have to call in the am to make sure you are not on 'the list' and its just on your mind that when you are 'off' you are not really off.
