I have been working at AutoNation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most of the time process is in place and followed

    Cons

They talk big about having integrity and being innovative but you see on a daily basis that it's just talk. Sales and finance are full of deceptive tactics just like the worst dealers out there. The executive management at corporate are mostly backstabbing snakes out for themselves and the only ones they are out to please is Wallstreet. For all intensive purposes Autonation is not a car company, it's a real estate holding company at the will of Wallstreet. When Mike Maroone left it was the last straw, the new guy Bill Berman has brought in a completely hostile environment to the company. Good employees fired at will, intimidation has become the norm.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

    Works with my school schedule.

    Cons

Constantly being overworked and underpaid for the services that you are supposed to be expected to provide. Management only looks at numbers and knows very little about technical application.

I worked at AutoNation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun and fast past work environment, your co-workers will turn in to great friends, there is some room for advancement if you show an interest and work hard at your current position

    Cons

Can be demanding with long hours, would sometimes be expected to work 50-60 hours a week, especially if you are in sales, lots of meetings and corporate interference

    Advice to Management

Upper management should trust their employees and managers more to take care of the day to day functions instead of trying to be involved in every little aspect possible and creating more problems

    Pros

Flexable hours, like a big family. Team morale is definitely there as well as the G.M. will always go above and beyond to help out even the lowest people on the totem pole. If you put in the effort, you will reap the benefits, not a job for someone who is not a go getter.

    Cons

You work a lot of hours.

    Pros

Struggling to answer this in a poaitive manner. They were cooperative on a family emergency. I do believe automation is a good company (benefits, etc.) Just pick the right location.

    Cons

I sold 6 cars my first 5 days, however, on the 7th day I was supposed be paid a draw. This went on for three weeks where I couldn't clock in, nor did I get my money until I complained to the manager. Sales manager, g.s.m, payroll, etc....eventually. I was frustrated working for free. I made them a good deal of money yet, I still haven't received a bonus for sales.it's now been over a month.

    Advice to Management

Do what you say. I was strung along for three weeks waiting to get paid. Was told almost daily "yeah, we'll get it tomorrow.".
