I have been working at AutoZone full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you're full time, there's good benefits

    Cons

Doesn't pay well enough. Stores stay understaffed, even when busy. Unreasonable sales goals.

    Advice to Management

10 cent raises are a joke. And store managers should not be able to evaluate themselves every year!

I worked at AutoZone part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good hours if you're part-time
Hub stores are busy and interesting
You'll definitely learn a lot about cars
    Customers can be hilarious
Co-workers can become some of your best friends

    Cons

Upper management, like district managers, can be overbearing to store management
Some customers will try to ruin your day by taking out their frustrations on you
    Sometimes it is boring
    Some coworkers are just terrible

I have been working at AutoZone part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Personally I love the feeling of being able to help others when they have no idea what to do.
Many people do not understand how their vehicles work, so when you can offer great advice and get them their parts its sort of self-rewarding to see the relief in customer faces.

    Cons

Pay rates are abysmal compared to what the job requires (replacing batteries, wiper blades, bulbs in extreme heat, pouring rain, and snow (depending on location)).
Commission plans should considered for certain parts since AutoZoners are expected to force feed customers parts and products.

    Advice to Management

Adjust pay rates according to automotive knowledge.

I have been working at AutoZone part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good with scheduling around college. The people I work with are very knowledgeable and they are great people. Good place to work and a great learning experience.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement. Annually raises. Cares more about customers than employees. Not allowed to take tips even when you're out in the heat changing a car battery in 100 degree weather or in the rain.

    Advice to Management

Try to help employees as much as customers.

I have been working at AutoZone full-time

    Pros

Pay vacation time a variety if shifts. Pay starts out well above average

    Cons

Long hours..then hours cut short..hot vinditions..and freezing winter conditions. No incentive pay at all. No sick leave

    Advice to Management

Look more into involving your crew in desicions..stop lying to them. In act some sort of incentive pay. Think about adding a 10 cent raise per year of service per hour after the initial 2 years

I have been working at AutoZone full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment, good feeling of satisfaction when customers leave happy. Good training, not thrown to the wolves. My manager at least is very thorough, patient, yet firm.

    Cons

Poor pay. Obviously being retail you have some rude customers to say the least. Mostly the pay is the problem.

    Advice to Management

    Pay more

I have been working at AutoZone full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you love cars, car parts, and helping people, then work at AutoZone. The smarter and more competent you are, the more you will succeed. There are cash rewards for good work. AutoZone has some of the best benefits on the market. Recently, AutoZone 's Duralast parts have gotten better than all the competitors.

    Cons

Just like any other retail job, people may come in and be mean to you.

    Advice to Management

If you are a HUB manager, have three AutoZoners to close. Same if you're in a high crime area.
