I worked at Autodesk as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

they have really interesting projects, a lot of research being done there too. depends on the team, but there are many which do fascinating stuff

    Cons

some teams are bureaucratical and slow. true for any big company, and at times felt disconnected from overall mission of the company due to size.

    Advice to Management

maybe more opps to engage with product leads of the team and more info on autodesks general direction; didn't really know what it was during my time there

I worked at Autodesk as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Small office, where everybody interacted. Easy to get feedback and a stress-free environment. Everybody was kind and they have good work processes put in place.

    Cons

No real cons to speak of. I ended up transitioning to teaching other QA's, which was not optimal for me.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! You all made it really easy to get along with. Can't wait to come back.

A great team of excellent specialists, its both challenging and fun working with that kind of people. A very comfortable work environment and nice atmosphere.

    Cons

Can't really think of any significant cons. Maybe the selection of snacks could have been better :)

    Pros

I really liked working at Autodesk. They have a great team, everyone is really friendly and the bureaucracy is better than in most big companies. My Manager was very encouraging.

They give their interns good relocation benefits and compensation is competitive. Autodesk also hires a lot of its interns.

There are a lot of intern events, but if you're interning in the SF Bay Area, I would recommend trying to get an internship in the San Francisco office and not in San Rafael. You'll definitely feel more a part of the Autodesk culture and can participate in all the activities.

    Cons

I didn't notice any major issues. The overall experience was very positive. I recommend doing an internship here, but for long-term employment, I think the current situation is a little volatile, because they are going through some business transitions. As a result, there's a lot of instability.

    Advice to Management

Don't only focus on promoting the company culture in SF office, try to bring some of the fun atmosphere to the other locations.

I worked at Autodesk as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Such a fantastic internship experience! There are so many wonderful people working at this company that it is a great learning experience. I recommend going to every talk you can and get yourself as much involved as possible!

    Cons

Nothing that I can really think of. The benefits are great, the managers are fantastic, and so are the intern activities. Maybe a little less pizza?

    Advice to Management

Have more activities for interns to collaborate and work together on projects. We spent a great deal of time telling each other about what we were working on.

I worked at Autodesk as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some teams are doing some really amazing, cutting edge work.
Very focused on good design, at least in my UX team. People were really great!

    Cons

Tension between younger, faster moving parts of the company and the older, more lethargic ones.
My manager went for his sabbatical, and my mentor took a vacation at the same time. My internship was kind of left rudderless at that point, and it was up to me to do what I wanted to. Not necessarily a bad thing, but as an intern I would have liked more mentorship and direction.
    Free food wasn't every day.
Processes are roadblocks. As soon as I needed to interface with another team, our velocity would go from 60 to 10, because we would have to send an email to schedule a meeting where we would realize that we needed someone else too, so another email, which would be forgotten about until the reminder the next week... you get the picture.

    Advice to Management

Adapt leaner processes, allow people freedom to fail. Set up infrastructure that allows people to make changes, and revert any mistakes quickly on production, without needing a bazillion permissions for tiny changes.
