Cool company that's stuck 20 years in the past

    Pros

-Autodesk is an awesome brand--they make cool software that does amazing stuff -The Sustainability and Foundation team is doing amazing work with non-profits -Great benefits and salary

    Cons

-Not very diverse (mostly white males) -Toxic company culture (everyone is very competitive and willing to throw others under the bus to get ahead) -Many processes and systems are extremely outdated because Autodesk hasn't had to innovate as it's been the market leader and giant in its areas for so long. -No opportunities for career growth for young employees (or for more senior employees for that matter)

    Pros

I meet some really nice people and I was assigned very meaningful work. The culture is very diverse and you will meet a lot of nice people there.

    Cons

Expectation is high so you will have to work hard at your job. Although there are a lot of people you will meet, if you are not proactive or sociable you wouldn't build the connections you wanted.

    No advancement

Nov 7, 2015 - Development Manager in Singapore

    Pros

Interesting technologies and some talented people in Singapore office. Autodesk still has good technological strengths and products.

    Cons

The Singapore office due to the lack of diversity has a very sub-continent workplace culture; putting up a good show and being able to talk is more important than real work. Difficult for advancement.

    Pros

Great culture, smart people, great benefits, competitive salaries, interesting work. The company is willing to promote and provide more opportunity if the employees can show they ready and willing.

    Cons

In the last 2 years the company culture has changed. Longevity at the company is not valued and the culture has changed for the worse.

    Beware of smiling faces

    Pros

Some good technology and application Some good people

    Cons

Bad middle management protecting themselves from the annual chop and change. A huge click culture and a need to be part of excessive drinking and other 'activities' to fit in Zero work life balance if you want to keep your job Toxic back stabbing and politics Seeing good people go so manager can save there backsides is very sad HR is just there to help managers get people out when direction changes Constant change of direction

    Great company to work for

Jun 29, 2021 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Down to earth CEO that has clear vision for taking the company forward. The culture is much warmer and empathetic than any other tech company I am aware of. Strong mission-driven purpose. Strong engagement regarding diversity and belonging.

    Cons

There is opportunity to elevate talent in multiple places throughout the company. It was a bit of a tired company, but since Andrew took the CEO chair, has been approaching things very differently, and much more aggressively/quickly, in order to be more competitive or thought of as a true market leader.

    Pros

Autodesk is a hidden gem in the tech industry. Their mission and their people are amazing and leadership is doing all the right things to shape strategy and culture. People are proud to work at Autodesk, especially since the pandemic because leadership has taken great care of its people. We have been given respite days and our CEO has been exceptional during this challenging time.

    Cons

With high growth comes a lot of change that can be disorienting depending on where you sit in the organization
