    Pros

    It pays decent I guess.

    Cons

Management is terrible. I applied for a job to progress in the company. Through out the whole interview the supervisor that was there insulted my career choice several times.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees that worked there for several years the same as the new employees,

I have been working at Autoliv full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, good pay, quarterly bonuses

    Cons

Training is slim to none! Learn on the fly. Up to date electrical and mechanical prints are non existent

    Advice to Management

Techs need resources to troubleshoot and fix machines. It seems that since the company is currently so profitable, this has been forgotten.

I have been working at Autoliv full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The health insurance is great, I think I getting a fair wage. I started with 2 weeks of paid vacation, and one week of sick leave. I work a 9 hour day, so I get every other Friday off.

    Cons

I am on call, so if there is a problem late at night they will be calling me and interrupting my sleep. they also shut down the whole week of the 4th of July. The 4th is a paid holiday, but the rest of the week has to be covered by vacation. Which only leaves me with one week of vacation time.

    Advice to Management

    Give more paid vacation time.

I have been working at Autoliv full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    1) Very strong growth and globally very well connected.
    2) Competent CEO who speaks intelligently and with confidence.
    3) Fairly strong collaboration between various functions.
    4) Nice sharp image & industry perception as cutting-edge.
    5) Many standards and business processes to help align global tasks.
    6) Truly concerned with workplace harassment / discrimination.
    7) Work-life balance is generally respected.

    Cons

This is still a fairly solid company, but due to the recent issue with Takata, Autoliv has been seeing monumental growth. This huge growth is clearly beyond the capacity of the current workforce, and is stretching the organization quite far. The highest of top management is competent, but middle-management is not fully committed or cognizant of the full scope of what needs to be done nor do they care.

There are many standards and guidelines as a part of internal controls with fairly strict KPI management. However, many times those in the position to evaluate these numbers are not very well versed in analysis of these metrics, resulting in the oversight not working very well. The constantly evolving and changing organization also allows serious issues to be overlooked while the emphasis is enforcement and "align with top management" attitude.

Fire-fighting is considered most sexy, while prevention of problems is looked upon as something akin to "extra curricular activities" and not seriously taken. Generally, it seems the company is heading the same direction as Takata at this rate -- too many shortcuts are being taken and the metrics indicate we are not understanding the risks.

    Advice to Management

    1) Understand our product and risks involved in your decisions.
    2) Take succession planning and training of staff seriously if you want to retain talent.
    3) The tools given to engineers and other staff are out-dated from industry standards. Don't cut corners just to meet EQ6.
