I have been working at Autoliv full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The health insurance is great, I think I getting a fair wage. I started with 2 weeks of paid vacation, and one week of sick leave. I work a 9 hour day, so I get every other Friday off.

    Cons

I am on call, so if there is a problem late at night they will be calling me and interrupting my sleep. they also shut down the whole week of the 4th of July. The 4th is a paid holiday, but the rest of the week has to be covered by vacation. Which only leaves me with one week of vacation time.

    Advice to Management

    Give more paid vacation time.

I have been working at Autoliv full-time

    Pros

Technology - saving lives is a satisfying way to spend your career. Your products are designed to prevent injuries, not cause them.

    Cons

Very lean. Resources can be tight. Segments of the operations are too separated, not enough sharing amongst divisions.

    Advice to Management

Continue innovating, don't be afraid to spend money to make money.

I have been working at Autoliv full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement, works with schooling shedules, decent health benefits, non-rotating shifts, opportunities for advancement, team environment, almost always opportunities for overtime work

    Cons

As with anywhere, Autoliv plays the political game. Pay is at or below averages in my area for Industrial Automation Maintenence Technicians. Different shifts are treated very differently, the bias between management and the different shifts causes tensions.

    Advice to Management

Different shifts are treated very differently, the bias between management and the different shifts causes tensions from time to time. This is not selective to my position. All non-dayshift employees lack support, and sometimes are not as respected as counterparts on the perfered shift, despite added responsibilities that arise from handling situations when Management/HR/Engineering aren't present to make the calls.
