I have been working at Autoliv full-time

    Pros

Company outlook is great from a business standpoint. Fair benefits. Great coworkers.

    Cons

HR is really lost when it comes being an actual resource. Communication from upper management to the production floor is non existent in most cases. Politics.

    Advice to Management

Provide better wages overall to hourly workers. Ensure training on all shifts are communicated properly.

I worked at Autoliv full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good health benefits. Average of 12 paid holidays.. PTO. 401k match. Purchased vacation option.

    Cons

Low base pay versus market competition. Upper management not committed to ensuring goals and objectives are effectively cascaded. Management by objective versus leadership by strategy. Poor work life balance. Kettering graduates given seniority. HR very cold and disconnected. Gainshare metrics contain metrics that are out of the circle of influence of the individual employee....

    Advice to Management

Let people pursue their passions and empower them to do so! Gut the authoritative management focused objectives at the expense of their employees.

    I worked at Autoliv

    Pros

Great health benefits. Holiday pay. 401k match. Purchase vacation option.

    Cons

Base pay was low; although benefits make up for some of that low base pay. Work life balance was horrendous, constantly on the phone during home life and weekends. Communication was laughable bad, upper management did not clearly convey desired expectations and constantly changes their minds. I asked about my future in the company and possibly futures raises and I was all but...

    Advice to Management

Set clear and concise goals. Follow through on your promises. Communicate to your subordinates. Follow the chain of command; don't undermine middle supervisors and managers.

I worked at Autoliv full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Benefits are better then most employers, but a cost a little more every year and now cost above average. Decent wages but top out quickly for workers without some kind of degree. Education assistance is a nice benefit. Good and cheap in house Cafe.

    Cons

Upper management and HR seem to be a little to "equal" oppertunity. If you can't check off at least one box on the list of possible minorites and /or dicriminated groups ( i.e. race, gender, sexaul orintation), you're not condisered for promotion unless none applied. If they need to trim fat and your boss doesn't care for you he/she will find a reason to fire you instead of doing...

    Advice to Management

Promote the best person for the job regardless if is just another middle age married straight white guy. Don't be affraid to face baseless accusations of discrimination when you pick the best applicant.

I have been working at Autoliv full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

I have a great manager and the pay is pretty good. The hours are very stable, and there is always a problem to solve and work to be done, which makes things interesting.

    Cons

Upper management doesn't provide a clear direction for the company. The corporate initiatives often seem like a wasted effort, without very practical or clear objectives.

    Advice to Management

I would be clearer to all employees the direction the ship is headed instead of the corporate non-sense talk.
