    Pros

What a great company to work for. Flexible work arrangements, a great business model, and a company that really strives to keep its employees happy.

    Cons

I have no complaints about this company.

    Advice to Management

Be a little more transparent about what challenges/opportunities the company is facing.

    Pros

Awesome new offices w/on-site cafe with "food court" type atmosphere partially subsidised by Auto Trader.com (breakfast and lunch)

Incredible "Employee Floor" complete with "electric orange" breakroom (plus regular breakrooms on every floor), PlayStation, Wii, satellite TVs (6), pool and foosball tables, "Mother's Room" for nursing moms complete w/refridgerators and private nursing rooms and restroom

Building an on-site state of the art fitness center

Extrememly supportive of company (paid time off) community service events

Often times present employees with "spot bonuses" typically $100 - $500 for jobs extremely well done or really tough assignments - basically for going above and beyond the call of duty

Many employees (especially in IT) work virtually at least one day a week (team members decide among each other who is WFH on which days). This is the first place I've worked where I don't "feel bad" for WFH...or that people think the person who is WFH is goofing around and not getting any work done. Without exception (on my team anyway), when somebody is WFH, they are responsive (typically through IM) and productive.

    Cons

Not much in the way of progression/succession planning. Especially if you're in IT, there's not much in the way of learning about other parts of the company should you want to grow your career out of IT.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow training and career development throughout the organization to keep pace w/industry and market.

I worked at Autotrader full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

management has open door policy. ceo interacts with staff on a regular basis. very laid back environment all together. autotrader really takes care of their employees. great perks and benefits.

    Cons

Management as a whole is good. I just happened to be assigned to a bad manager. Every one was scared of her because of how she did business in the department she was over. Nonetheless she no longer works there so I'm sure everyone that stayed during her tenure exclaimed Hallelujah when she made her exit!

    Advice to Management

continue treating your employees the way you do!

Autotrader has a very fun office, great people to work with, and were always looking for better technology to use in their systems. They treat their software people very well, and allow flexibility in work hours and work from home options when they can.

    Pros

Fun environment and people who are very productive with minimal politics.
Great perks, good salary, bonus structure, excellent benefits, 401k match, pension plan, employee discounts, covered parking, cafeteria, onsite fitness center, community service opportunities
Interesting business - everyone can relate to automobiles in some way (performance, feel, look, value, image, financial, economy, fuel economy, etc.)
