AvalonBay's culture is a huge pro! One of AvalonBay's core values is 'a spirit of caring'. This is seen day in and day out. They care about their employees and the residents living in each apartment community. Each year the company designates a month to volunteering and helping it's communities. The organization encourages it's employees to take some time from their day to day jobs and give back where they can. The company also strives for continuous improvement. Associates at different communities and other corporate departments collaborate and continuously try to improve how they can provide the best experience for all of AvalonBay's residents.

Cons

Some of the company's databases and systems are very old, but they are slowly transitioning to newer technology. This will greatly improve how individuals do their daily jobs across the company.

Avalonbay is a great place to work and is full of people who care. Spirit of caring is a core value that’s expressed in the collaborative, supportive and always improving attitude it’s culture.

Not really a con for me , but very fast paced and ever changing. But I thrive on that. If you love to learn and improve then take this con and make it a pro!

Great leadership, Innovative, promotes employee feedback and participation. Cares about all team members and promotes a healthy work life balance. Truly encourages a spirit of caring. Constantly educating teams at all levels.

There is lots of room for advancement at the CCC. The atmosphere is also great. The people are nice and we have a wonderful culture. The site is big on employee engagement and you can tell by the Culture Committee and Spirit of Caring Committee.

The CCC does a lot with employee engagement in the office. I wish the site had something once a year at the office that involved our families. Like a cookout in the parking lot where we could bring our family that would include a site tour. That would be my only small con.

Pros

Spirit of Caring is real. Partners with American Red Cross to hold on site blood drives and offers a company match during times of disaster. Pays associates their full salary to volunteer at company-sponsored events (Habitat for Humanity builds, ForKids builds, regattas, food packing, etc.)
