    Pros

Fantastic group of people that are culturally diverse. We have people from all over the globe. The sector is interesting and there's ernomous room for development and growth. Most roles require travel with EMEA which is an amazing opportunity.

    Cons

Organisational structure needs to be re-examined. Information flow and communication across teams in terms of wider ongoing projects needs to improve, else one/teams could be left in the dark. Salary can be more competive.

    Advice to Management

Training and Developmet, this should be an integral aspect of the business as it leads to continuous improvement and growth. It also strengthens the workforce and gives us a competitive edge amongst our peers globally.

    Pros

Really nice colleagues working with really interesting technologies to provide a internet service across Europe and Africa. Great place to learn enterprise hardware with interesting problems to solve and you get to work with satellites.
Generally you work a 9-5 job, which is a benefit for work life balance.

    Cons

Unfortunately upper management are control freaks and like to exercise their powers. There is a lack of trust.in staff, for example:
    * You need to work in the office, not possible to work remotely even though they are a communication company
    * Not allowed to use social media in relation to the company
This all results in staff being under valued and the company worries about its most important asset the satellites, when it should worry about the staff.

    Advice to Management

Trust your staff, if you don't then why are you employing them.

    Pros

To get a job if u really need to and move on asap

    Cons

Comedy. You have to learn everything yourself. Lie don't do nothing and u will be a hero :)

    Advice to Management

Start spending money on training people and investmenting in them.

I have been working at Avanti Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

a lot of good people work there , and they make everyone feel part of it.

    Cons

too many managers who cannot manage, and departments who dont communicate with each other. Also some useless people who coast along doing as little as possible, and just pass the buck at every opportunity

    Advice to Management

listen to people at the coal face, rather than the `yes men` who tell you what you want to hear, instead of whats actually going on.

    Pros

The market segment - great people to work with

    Cons

A bullying culture seems to be endemic in this company.

    Advice to Management

Go home. This business is clearly NOT for you.

    Pros

    - basic premise and offering is good, so the company should have potential for growth and success
    - could be good first job for technical roles to get experience in space/telecoms/satellite

    Cons

Obsession with short term share price takes prioirity over long term strategy and plans. Employees aren't allowed to make decisions or influence them and input which does not agree with the ideas of the senior manager are immediately dismissed. Strategy changes on the whim of one individual.

    Advice to Management

Presumably you employ people for a reason? So start trusting them, let them contribute to the company and stop creating a demoralised and scared workforce.

    Pros

The company has some great individuals and is incredibly diverse however the management lack emotional intelligence and seem to be only interested in the share price.

    Cons

The management lack emotional intelligence and seem to be only interested in the share price. This combined with the lack of trust made it a very difficult place to work.

    Advice to Management

Look after your staff and forget your pockets.
