    Pros

Company was really good a few years ago. Has good work from home options (depends on the group you are working for). Benefits are generally good, but change based on company's performance - Yes even the 401k match etc keep changing year after year....

    Cons

Now a days its lacking new and innovative ideas. Too much legacy baggage that they can't get rid of. Salaries are lower than market average. Growth potential is not that good either. Lots of layoffs and projects being moved off shore.

    Advice to Management

Get in tune with the market.

    I worked at Avaya full-time

    Pros

As has been said in many other reviews: Wonderful people to work with at the level of coaches and their reports.

    Cons

Incompetent upper management. Keeps company in constant turmoil. Worst morale I've ever seen. Upper management buys companies that enrich upper management regardless of whether they are a good fit for Avaya. Usually not. This company is circling the drain. Result is that it becomes a Punish-the-Innocent culture.

    Advice to Management

Replace the entire upper management team, including Kennedy, and make sure that their replacement's contracts stipulate that their feet are held to the fire financially unless the company improves its financial position in a meaningful way.

I worked at Avaya (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, interesting working on highly reliable telecom enterprise equipment looking to find next generation solutions

    Cons

Security. The future of the company is in question. The US presence has been in a downward spiral for quite some.

I worked at Avaya full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary, health insurance, 401K, onsite gym, lunch cafe. Great location. Within walking distance of many lunchtime restaurants. Just off of I-25 for easy commuting. Friendly colleagues.

    Cons

Poor morale. Layoffs. Jobs sent overseas. In software development, equipment and legacy software are archaic. Missing symbolic debugging capability in development environment.

Horribly run company. Company is being out maneuvered by competitors left and right. Their main source of revenue is a PBX from the 80s

I have been working at Avaya full-time

    Pros

Have the ability to work from home

    Cons

Constantly cutting employee benefits and perks.
Very small or no raises and no bonuses.
Continuous restructuring and moving to a younger workforce (i.e. less costly, but fewer skills).

    Advice to Management

Focus on the employees and the revenue will follow.
Have a 5 year plan instead of quarter-to-quarter.

I worked at Avaya full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Avaya provided me with a chance to work with technology and systems that left me better for it. Working with some very talented people and learning things I hadn't been exposed to before has been a great experience.

    Cons

Right-sizing the company leaves one feeling down in morale. It's an unfortunate reality, but they tried to do it in the best way possible.

    Advice to Management

Be upfront with employees about what is going on. Actively strive to reach out and foster talent and internal movement that will expose those who desire growth to such opportunities.
