    Amazing team work, everyone is valued and made to feel like a key player. Training is fun and you are always learning!

    Nothing really, while working on the floor sometimes there are slow hours but it is not bad.

    Pros

    I love Aveda for many reasons, some of them being just the ethics in general. I love what they stand for, what they/we do for the people and world around us. It makes you feel so good knowing that you can change someone entire day just by giving them some moments of wellness. You really do make such beautiful connections.

    Cons

    Thus far I don’t have any complaints. I find that if any issue arises, your team is really like another family and it gets resolved very quickly and in a kind manner.

    I have been working at Aveda full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Aveda raises money for clean water every year and provides income opportunities for people living in poor countries by sourcing their ingredients. I actually love the company's values and it's a really easy job if you like that sort of thing.

    Cons

    The downside is you are expected to be a make-up artist and hair stylist. They make it seem as if you only need the education around the product but that's not true. Also, they provide a lot of free services with no guarantee to buy which would be great if people didn't take advantage of it and your stuck doing countless facials while not making money towards your sales goal. Transactions are limited as I would only get 4 guests per 8 hr shift at times. There's lots of cold calling the same guests over and over.

    Advice to Management

    Come up with a better strategy than recycling the same call lists over and over. Also, the whole coding things on receipts is stupid. Especially when you don't believe people are actually doing the services coded.

    Terrible pay; terrible people with zero integrity and unless you plan to brown nose you way up the food chain you’ll never grow

    Pros

    Discount is incredible, getting to sample and try new cutting edge products, nice ambiance with relaxing aromas, staple products always available

    Cons

    High amount of turnover! Online booking system is a mess. Clients can book free facials everyday without buying products. Usually low staffing to accommodate volume of store. I would be there open to close with no relief. Manager was seldom on floor, they were in office doing who knows what. No recognition for making goals or doing a great job. Emails are out of control, changes can happen any minute and you are expected to execute tasks immediately.
    In retail they hire unlicensed hair designers and expect you to do hair. Makes no sense and products are overpriced! I wish Aveda still carried the core values it had when it was developed.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees
    Give recognition to the employees that deserve it. Quit taking credit for others work. Promote from within when a employee excels instead of hiring outside. Be fair and have integrity!

    Good percentage off the terrible products that are outdated

    No gratis. The upper management does nothing . We are all slaves who get yelled at constantly and people talk behind your back plus there is blatant racism there. Shocking..

    Advice to Management

    Be compassionate and stop talking behind others backs. Be healthy you are grossly overweight .
