I worked at Averitt Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Seems to have a good benefits package

    Cons

They would rather be short handed than spend a buck. Lots of unhappy people that feel stuck due to life situation. "Leaders" are shady and inept, definitely a lot of favoritism. Turnover would be higher, if people didn't feel trapped.

    Advice to Management

The use of "leader" to label supervision, is an absolute joke. Leaders only look out for themselves and not their people. Call them supervisors or managers, some of these "leaders" have no idea how to lead, but can manage just fine.
The professional image policy should be revisited, the folks in the call center, who never see the customer, should not have a more strict policy than the drivers, who are the true face of the company.

I have been working at Averitt Express part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy and simple work if you can handle the sweat and heat. Money and hours are pretty good if this is a job for you. At least 40 hours a week and sometimes an extra day.

    Cons

Can really suck some days with the heat but all apart of the job. No benefits with being part time so be careful if this is your main job.

    Advice to Management

None, haven't been there long enough but they do there best to keep you hydrated.

I worked at Averitt Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I had a good relationship with my dispatcher, or So I thought!

    Cons

Smoke and mirrors! Equipment is old. Not very well maintained. Maintenance doesn't care. Would rather you pull out of date trailers and risk your CDL than to have a third party inspect. In breakdown every other day for 2 months. The fourth truck leaked so badly that all my electronics were damaged. Actually had maintenance unlock my doors and pull down privacy shade and come inside the cab while banging on the side of the truck. I was preparing for the day and was only 7 hours into my 10 hour break.
I researched this company for a month before I came on board..I don't know what went wrong, but it did! Made more money in breakdown than when I finally got rolling by about $300-400.00.
The home weekends means late, late Saturday's. 1100-1200, Well good luck!!

    Advice to Management

    Wake up!
