    Pros

You make your future at Avery. If you want to climb the ladder you can. Must accept the mind set of "change" constant changes is Avery's way.

    Cons

Been with Avery for over 30 years. In the 30 years I have had over 26 managers. If you can adapt to changes in work ethics every 1 or two years you will make it. I did !!

I worked at Avery Dennison full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

While not cutting edge, you will learn the basic fundamentals of a Fortune 500 company. If you get into one of their development programs, you will see a cross section of the business.

    Cons

Not too innovative, focus is on commodity markets, which isn't exactly profitable long term. Short term view, often laying off people in order to help with earnings expectations.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid of smaller businesses that may not be high growth, but consistently deliver bottom line results. Respect your employees.

I worked at Avery Dennison full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Pay and benefits. Most management is competent.easy to move around in to diversify your talents. great diversity in work force

    Cons

They use and abuse their employees. After 29 years and 8 months they decided that they no longer need my services. i rarely called in sick was never late. They seem to target older employees for termination in order to bring in younger lower paid people. There is no loyalty to the employees anymore. Stan Avery would roll over in his grave if he knew that. He was all about keeping you until you retired.

    Advice to Management

Respect your older experienced employees keep them employed until retirement. Stop throwing them to the wolves at a time when it is hardest for them to recover.

I have been working at Avery Dennison full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Avery painesville at one time was thr best place to work. The management in the 70's 80's and 90's involved the employees on team to deal with issues (FEA members). In 2000's Avery went degree for all management from teamleader up and thats when it went sour.

    Cons

Micro managed, misleading on issues, no retirement or benifits when you leave in the future from avery. I would not by stocks anymore in this company. the CEO will take a large raise and stock option while the workers on the floor didn't get a raise for a couple of years.

    Advice to Management

Hope that Stan Avery cannot get out of his grave because you all will most likely loose your jobs. Look at the OSHA and labor laws closer and start following them to be a better place to work
