Tough hardware margins make profitability a challenge. Competing versus some big players.

I worked at Aviat Networks (More than a year)

    Pros

pay was decent however management did not reward good job performance with raises.

    Cons

Supervisors and management were ignorant and did not listen. Every chance available they would blame employees for faults they were well aware of. No advancement.

    Advice to Management

Hire compotent supervisors who understand responsibility and whatbit means to be a leader.

    Pros

Its a job with opportunity to learn about telecom with some positive coworkers.

    Cons

This is not a place to grow old. Mgt does not support a work life balance .HR only supports Mgt. Aging employees are laid off . Medical issues are looked down upon. No stock value.

    Advice to Management

Company focus has been off track for years with no raises. Get rid of bad Mgt. and practices. Innovation grows in a positive work environment.

    Pros

Great place to work and grow old! Be prepare to rollup your sleeves and make your contribution. Company rewards initiative!

    Cons

Being an international company career growth happens at different sectors. Upper management most of the time gets it right, but sometimes they are very reactive. You win some, you lose some.

    Advice to Management

I am optimistic about the future of the company and I am confident that the next set of products will meet the market requirements, just stick to the delivery schedule!

    Pros

The people are the best. I stayed longer than I should've because of the amazing co-works I had there. I met some great people with amazing talent while I was there. Health insurance was GREAT. Enjoyed the flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Management is a joke. They will do anything to cover themselves while throwing their staff under the bus at every turn. No financial incentives for employees to stay (no raises in the 4 years I was there). When money runs low it seems they just lay off more people and make the workloads of those left behind heavier. And when you ask for a title change (since you've been doing the work of 2-3 people) you are told no and yet they are quick to give themselves more money. Notice it wasn't more money I was asking for, it was only a title! Backwards way of managing people.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. No raises year over year and continued reductions in headcount added more to employees workloads. Upper management continues to make the big bucks. How about taking a reduction and giving it to the folks that are actually doing the work!

    Pros

Great people to work with and learn from. Wonderful place for a new college grad to start work after school. Lots of RF and Microwave expertise in the company

    Cons

The company plays in a highly competitive and fragmented microwave back-haul space and is subject to constant price pressure from bigger more vertically integrated suppliers.
