I have been working at Avis Budget Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None. I can literally think of nothing good to say.

    Cons

I don't treat their employees very well. They give you a hard time when you try to use your vacation time. They're understaffed and won't hire anyone because they would prefer to make you do the work of 3 people instead. I have literally told my friends and family that are looking for jobs not to apply for this place

I worked at Avis Budget Group part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People seemed friendly until you needed something. Really not much else to say. There was nothing good about working here in my experience.

    Cons

Lied to me in the interview. Was called for a phone interview for a sales position. Great. Was very interested. When I actually spoke with someone for the phone interview they said the position was filled but they had a different one available for me. Whatever I needed a job and it didn't sound bad. Went in for the actual interview and that new position was filled so they tried to sell me on a different position. Again. I just needed a job. They didn't tell me much about the position but said it would be easy and I'd get to sit down a lot( which I needed because after a car accident I couldn't stand for a long period of time). Get to the job after a day of training and it's nothing like what was explained to me. No one speaks much English which is whatever but it's a dead end job. No room to move up at all, constant walking/running, only a 30 minute break, and no where to park unless you enjoy watching your car get towed. worked for one day and quit. Horrible experience. still have yet to be paid and this was 3 months ago!! Tried reaching out to managers. no luck. Still being given the run around as to when I'm supposed to be paid. My advice? Find a different job. The pay was not even worth it. Seriously. this is the best advice I could give to anyone. Look somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie to people. Get a working phone number and pay your employees!! Pathetic.

I worked at Avis Budget Group as a contractor

    Pros

    Nice campus with a cafeteria
    Most co-workers are friendly

    Cons

Half the corporate office staff are H1Bs

Immediately after walking through the door you will be thrown into a "sink or swim" situation because you'll receive zero orientation to the company or your job.

Everyone works in silos so there is very little communications between departments and sometimes your teammates.

Employees are in constant CYA mode because people are being fired left and right.

The new CEO is a brit who thinks that Americans are inept and that IT is an expensive nuisance.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the value in your employees

    Pros

Good people to work with, very nice to work with!!! Can't think of any thing else!!!!!good benefits, 401 k.
    ???????????????

    Cons

Bad management, why do they let reservation book when there is no inventory. You have to meet sales goals and you are forced to cheat without the customers acknowledge. The CEO of Avis budget group need to be investigated by congress like the CEO of Wells Fargo all upper management needs to be fired. This company is hazardous to your health. Not worth the pain and stress.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring these 20 year olds off the street that have no no clue what there doing, listen to the older agent that been there 30 + years. Ever since the merger with Avis and budget it all became budget down hill. No favors from co worker ls should not be allowed. Tell the the reservation center to start doing there job right .

I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The only pros I can think of is the Uncapped commission

    Cons

Where do I begin?!? At first it was great money and then the company plummeted. From no cars to the lack of hiring full time employees. The abuse that is allowed from fmla to the advantage being taken from New managers or managers the upper management didn't care for. The scheduling is awful! Night shifts wouldn't be covered and because of it associates dodged the counter. I would not recommend this position to anyone for now. It's like the housing market, it's a recession right now.

    Advice to Management

Management can be great but they work off of favorites
