I have been working at Avis Budget Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Avis/Budget is a very nice and easy company to work for and I find the work to be fulfilling. I have good people as co-workers.

    Cons

Some managers tend to micro mange and not trust your personnel to do it right.

    Advice to Management

Trust your lead employees to do the job in an excellent manner. Avoid micro managing and make your instructions concise and clear. then just relax and know it will be accomplished.

    Pros

You can set the hours you want to work and can be off work when you need to with no questions asked. It is a pleasant work place with mostly retired people.

    Cons

some supervisors flavor the black drivers for special jobs over employees who have seniorty . Mostly because it keeps down trouble. The supervisor is black and I feel he is under pressure to show favor to his peers. Older white shuttlers have asked for trips and have been told there arn't any right now and turn around a get black employees without seniority.

    Advice to Management

Be fair to all employees. If you say seniority is important for special jobs then do it and don't bend to pressure for special people just because they are black or white. This is fair and everyone is happy.

    Pros

Life and Work friendly, praise for hard word and good job done. Great work flexibility. Can telecommute part of the week.

    Cons

Only the favorites get the bonuses and raises no matter what. Consultants work like there's no tomorrow. Work hard or shown the door. Regular employees off earlier than consultants a lot during the summer season. Regular employees off early for company functions while consultants left to work = consultants feeling demoralized and ostrasized. Forget about whose right or wrong when confronted by regular employees concerning a consultants work = the regular workers are always right. Just agree with whatever they state and you will be fine. And by no means get into any differences with the regular workers at all. You will be shown the door. In short, consultants must keep their eyes and fingers glued to the PC screens and keypads the majority of the working day, don't think about the regular employees early summer hours and company outings and you will be fine. Thank you sir may I have another comes to mind.

    Advice to Management

Encourage ALL your employees to join in company activities for better overall company wide worker morale without shorting the consultants pay (its only two hours) and the consultants earned it by worker harder and longer than the regular employees. It also sends a bad impression to talent that may want to come aboard when you discover them.

Customer Service Representative job is taking phone calls for 8-10 hours a day and this can become very draining. But it comes with the nature of the position.
