I have been working at Aviture full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Although they are growing fairly quickly, Aviture does a great job maintaining a close-knit, but welcoming culture; which has been carefully cultivated to always encourage the cross-pollination of knowledge and expertise across all developers, designers, and business development teams alike. Frequent outings and other in-house activities, such as lightning talks, small group sessions, Friday lunches, and a bi-weekly all-hands...

    Cons

Mentorship is somewhat of a fledgling idea among many of the teams, and your first couple months may feel like a trial by fire. This is something being actively worked on, but it does still have a way to go.

I have been working at Aviture full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Seniors are all highly knowledgeable and are very motivated, spreading a lot of motivation and inspiration making work enjoyable. - Huge personal growth rate in a short amount of time due to the experience gained from the work provided, and high support of growth of each individual. - Great benefits and culture providing a high feeling of comfort as well as lots of company activities and free snacks (with catered...

    Cons

    - A little far from restaurants when wanting to go out for food. - A few approaches such as finding how to join specific projects or expense reports feel like the process can be improved (though asking HR or any seniors always make it easy getting through the processes).

    Pros

Friendly and approachable leadership Highly knowledgeable and experience team... great collaboration. Excellent personal growth opportunities. Lots of company activities, including a trip to Cabo. Free beer. Free snacks. Free lunch on Fridays.

Those that are subcontracted to other companies can feel disconnected from the activities going on at the home office. Performance feedback is not given regularly.

I have been working at Aviture full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I like being the dumbest person in the room and that's easy to do here. Whether it's knowledge on a domain, or knowledge on a specific piece of technology, or even a design philosophy, there are always opportunities for learning. In fact, Aviture has made me a better developer by allowing me to collaborate across teams and learn from different people's experiences. One of the first things that attracted me to Aviture...

    Cons

The growth over the past few years has been good, but I think the leadership is battling their old roles and their new roles. It can be easy for them to focus on the tactile instead of the strategic. While leadership is open to, and encourages, change, getting something through the finish line can take longer than expected at times.

    Advice to Management

People enjoy the flexibility you offer, that it's possible to try on different roles without fear of being shot down. However, it's possible to have structured guidance without locking yourself into a large corporate structure and defined career growth.

I have been working at Aviture full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A lot of the other reviews mention the culture as a positive, and I firmly believe that that's true. The leadership does a good job of leading by example, of pushing employees to move forward and keep getting better, and of really, truly caring about the employees. One of the employees was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma recently, and you would not believe some of the things that the company has done for him as he...

The greatest perk of working at Aviture is also the greatest downfall of working there, depending on how you personally like to work. This is not a place you're going to work your 40 and go home and completely forget about the place until Monday. That's not to say you'll be working a lot of overtime, but... I mentioned the jobcrafting thing - it's not just a perk of working there, it's pretty much required to excel. There's...

I have been working at Aviture full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company is very focused on the employees. The founder/president wants to grow his company, but always puts the employees first. Because of this attitude, there have never been lay-offs in the history of the company. They will not hire a new person unless there is both a current and long-term need for them. The culture is unlike anyplace I have ever seen. There is the typical free food and beer that is becoming...

    Cons

Because it is a smaller company, things happen at a pace that may be faster than most would like. The largest criticism I hear is about staffing changes (people moving between teams) happening with shorter than expected notice.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. For a company rapidly approaching 100 people, we still have the feeling and culture of a small start-up, which I would consider a very positive thing.

I have been working at Aviture full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The best thing about working at Aviture is the culture. This is an environment where people take pride in their work and genuinely want to do their best, because of that we have a really laid-back office. The executives in the company lead by example, they encourage us, they are approachable, and they are friendly. They are generous with compensation, health coverage, PTO days, pretty much everything really. We’re encouraged...

Sometimes people don't fill the coffee?? Idk what to write here, the coffee thing is petty and not really an issue but I don't really have a negative thing to say about Aviture.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you're doing. Somehow you've kept that small company family feeling, even though we keep growing.

I worked at Aviture full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyed working at Aviture! The environment when at the headquarters was energetic and productive. They provide a snack closet, 10 cents drinks, free beer, and a free meal on Friday's. Exactly what you would expect from an up and coming tech company. Benefits were quite amazing as well for being a startup company, like the cost of health insurance being covered.

    Cons

Although I enjoyed my time at Aviture, I was subcontracted out to another company for most of my time. This other company did not follow the values of Aviture, and Aviture knew this. Many of the employees that were subcontract over there found themselves in a tight spot. Aviture ensured that they had our backs and were trying to get us back to headquarters, yet it never really felt like that. At the end, I was hoping...

    Advice to Management

If you are going to subcontract out your employees to other companies, be sure you know where you are placing them. There was a great disconnect between your workers that were there and home base. Have faith in your employees, and if you have any doubt, bring them home to get to know them better and have them prove their worth. Sometimes your subcontracted companies don't have their best intentions for you.
