I worked at Aviva as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

LEEDs Green company, wonderful new headquarters, amazing staff. Everyone I worked with was so nice, and helpful. The building was really nice with lots of windows. The executives has interior offices, because they believe that the majority of the staff deserves to be near the windows. Every desk was ergonomic and could be raised or lowered with the touch of a button.

    Cons

The parking lot was not covered, and in Iowa winters, and summers, was not very pleasant. Sometimes the cafeteria would get crowded, since the food serving space was not very big. I would have liked to have seen more varieties of things to eat.

I have been working at Aviva as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Just a great environment to work in with nice down to earth people.
Good starting salary, flexible working hours and all round enjoyable place of work. Progression is possible with the right attitude.

    Cons

Some of the managers are overworked and have poor skills but that's only a few that I have come across, I have no idea how some of them have been given such responsibilities it doesn't take a genius to see who can and who can't lead a team.

the computer systems can be slow also and do need updating.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing, update the IT Systems from the 90's!

I worked at Aviva full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, fantastic opportunities and talented people who really care about their customers. Best job ever as I had so many chances to shine with positive role models who took delight in seeing me succeed and do a good job.

    Cons

If you don't like change then it's probably not for you.... however, if you thrive on a challenge & can cope with uncertainty it'll suit you perfectly.

    Advice to Management

Continue to put people first and you won't go far wrong when planning change. They'll give 110% if you motivate them and recognise their strengths.
