I worked at Avon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Salary is good
You pay a portion of the car lease fee monthly

    Cons

You will work 70+ hours a week
You're expected to motivate unprofessional people
You are expected to do events outside in the winter, to recruit new representatives
There are weekly conference calls with in your division, and your peer managers will hear everything that you did wrong that week
The quality of the recruits, is poor. This causes a loss of staff. And a constant churning of representatives to recruit and train. Then they quit.

    Advice to Management

Treat your seasoned managers with respect
The division sales managers, are brutal
Nothing is ever good enough. Not your numbers, not your sales, not your recruiting numbers, nothing

I worked at Avon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of free Avon products and a flexible work schedule is the best thing I can say about working for Avon. Good teamwork between other DSMs and representatives. This is a good learning opportunity for someone looking for an entry level sales position.

    Cons

Micromanaging, controlling environment. Also corporate changes their structure and direction every couple of months. The need to regain focus and stick with it. They come up with new business plans, barely execute them and then move on to something new.

    Advice to Management

Empower your managers to use their own abilities and creativity
