    Nice People /Great Location. This review is for New Avon LLC- Scott White CEO ( Not Avon Products Inc- Sheri McCoy CEO)

    Cons

    Beware: Lack of decision making based on facts creates constant churn, no accountability, everyone chases their tales because of so many layers of decision making, no acknowledgement of a job well done, only criticism because sales are so poor. Your are not empowered to make a decision, it will be overridden by various colleagues. The Selling Field is a mess and is fundamentally so broken it will be hard to fix. The time/$ $ that has been spent to fix the field has failed miserably and most employees have one foot out the door. The whole new mgmt crew that has been hired doesn't understand direct selling so they are making decisions that make sense for a retail store, not a direct selling company. Long hours and late nights only yield for more churn the next day. No job satisfaction, everything is urgent and due yesterday. Loads of arrogance abounds in the Senior Leadership team because they are so out of touch.

    Advice to Management

    The Madness has to stop. Take a look around and look how poor the morale is at the company. You need to train new hires, use the experience of seasoned employees and build the business back up with knowledgeable staff. Avon is a direct selling company, it is not a retail store. Sr. Management better get a handle on things because there is way to much turnover. Every week there is a new hire in my area that has no idea where to start or has any training. It's really frustrating. The strategies and tactics to execute are constantly changing and the Beauty/Non Beauty areas are constantly churning out the same information and analysis that is never used. I am looking for a new job and hope I can get out quickly. Most of the last colleagues that have resigned have left the company with no job in place because the atmosphere was so toxic.

    They have great tools and give you a starter kit

    Cons

    You have to pay out of pocket for the start kit, management is not very helpful and they don't really check to see if you have an questions or concerns

    Pros

    Good benefits and some good, experienced co-workers.

    Cons

    Unheard-of hours expected to work to even come close to minimum expectation of goals, intense pressure and stress. Few that go in with happy marriages or family life come out the same way.

    Advice to Management

    Begin selling products in Wal Mart and Target. Model is outdated and hopeless in today's market.

    Pros

    Almost none. Work from home so can plan own diary.

    Cons

    No training. Unprofessional. People promoted to management roles they are not equipped to do. All about who you know and not daring to suggest that maybe things aren't working. Extremely high pressured target driven but targets based on no real business or commercial awareness. No security, if you fail to make targets, with absolutely no support from the company then you can be sacked with immediate effect. Expect to have no life outside of Avon. As an AM you will be working 10-12 hour days in order to meet targets and customers will expect to contact you 24/7.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on quality not quantity. Current targets are only leading to undermining reputation of the business. Advertising is poor and ineffectual. Spend money on marketing and innovative products. Look to raise the brand profile to attract sustainable business.

    Pros

    Flexibility to meet everyone's schedule

    Cons

    Management changes every day. No job security. Lies from above. No support to field managers. Representatives do not work, instead they expect District Manageres to do the work for them. Ultimate goal is to remove all field personnel and simply have leadership coaches, which makes sense for a MLM company. Too many products and programs that are too difficult to understand and next to impossible to achieve for even savvy people. Advertising aimed toward low income minorities and not toward "everyone". Extremely low salaries and benefits taken away and reduced to nothing. Division Managers sabotage success of District Managers. Backbiting inside the teams. Unpleasant and stressful work environment.

    Advice to Management

    Let go of all Division managers and keep the Field Managers.

    Pros

    Decent benefits, just decent. They've gotten worse over the years. Don't expect much. Also, they have good values and principals but this comment should be in the cons section because they don't actually follow any of them.

    Cons

    Unfortunately they let a lot of people go and replace them with the rejects from other companies. I would save your time and talents for a better more respected company. For a little over a year now, the environment has become people running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They are all trying to save the company with no idea or direction on how they are going to do that. You'll quickly notice there is limited innovation no room for growth. Even their products are not worth buying.

    Advice to Management

    The CEO, Scott White, and the rest of the management team do not know what they are doing. This is very apparent. The company will continue decline. A team is a reflection of its leadership. Since you don't invest in your employees or see them as valuable, you could at least spend some money on management courses for your current management staff.

    Pros

    Nothing to write home about! Have to actually say a minimum of 20 words so there you have it.oops still need few more words. I think I now have more than 20 words!

    Cons

    Outdated business model, everything is being outsourced, management is clueless and they keep hiring very senior management from the outside with the most lucrative pay packages who keep running it to the ground. Ex CIO created a mess and cost the company hundreds of million of dollars with failing initiatives like SAP ( documented in the Wall Street journal and other news outlets), and new CIO that took over in 2014 is not much better. She had no business in running any business let alone one of this size.

    Advice to Management

    Sell the rest of it as the current mgmt. is clueless and no indication that is about to change anytime soon

    Pros

    They pay well. The hours are normal.

    Cons

    The company lacks strategy, direction, and the technology to keep up with the modern woman. The morale is awful, almost everyone is looking for a new job. Senior management flip flops on decisions constantly which causes a lot of rework, churn, and waste of money. People are constantly having to backpedal and it has a ripple effect onto all departments. Groups are unwilling to support each other. It's so difficult to get anything done - there are so many layers of approvals and people involved. however, they're losing a lot of knowledge with employees leaving and have no documentation of this knowledge. It's a treasure hunt every time you need a question answered. There is no support system - most people throw each other under the bus.

    Advice to Management

    Set the strategy - and stick with it. Stop pointing the fingers at associates - the culture does not start from the bottom up. It is defined and emulated at the top. Most of the pitfalls of the culture are a direct result of upper management changing their minds and creating a culture of pressure, tight deadlines, and rework.

    Pros

    Watching a CEO run an American company out of the US and into the ground so quickly would be unbelievable had I not witnessed it first hand.

    Cons

    Impossible because it is a constant cycle of shifting power- regional - global - regional. Endless waste of time. Sheri has done nothing but cut - she has no idea how to generate revenue. Sheri should resign. Not sure how she shows up at the office having fired so many and taken an earnings opportunity from various parts of the world.

    Sheri and the Board sold US to Cerberus for a song and three Board Seats and yet, she still has a job? Quid Pro Quo?
    Fernando Acosta was incapable of making a LatAm number and yet he has a huge job but no idea what he does.

    Advice to Management

    Fire them. Including HR. And replace the Board.
    Board: check Uber Board's response. Where are you?

    Pros

    Work/Life balance has improved. Strong product portfolio.
    Simplified plans for representatives. Car allowance.

    Cons

    Corporate and Field Communication is very poor. There is no clear direction for the future. Compensation has declined. You may earn a quarterly bonus but for the number of added hours it takes to get that bonus, you will quickly find that you are making minimum wage. Cost cutting, stress and lay offs is the new normal.

    Advice to Management

    Communication is key. Communicate what changes you are considering with respect to our roles and the company's vision for the future. Communicate vital changes to policy, incentives and operations.
