I worked at Avon Products full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

All the people you meet. Lots of activities and conferences. Awesome training for leadership and you become mentor for these reps.

    Cons

80 hours per week. Crazy schedules. The people working there were always tired or excessively stressed. The demand they put on the District Managers was horrible!

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Avon Products part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice way to make money when you have no other choice.
    Good bonuses
    Nice sign on bonus

    Cons

Too many errors with orders but the factory
    Representatives don’t earn a lot
Only one item per month is extremely cheap for representatives.
Most of the money is to be made from recruiting others and not selling
    Not enough incentives .
Almost got a recruit stolen by my district manager because she wanted the bonus
Sometimes hard to collect money from customers
    Return shipping is too expensive
The attire did not consider smaller figured women and styles were not very trendy

    Advice to Management

    Look into current fashion trends.
    Appreciate your representatives .
Avon had become nothing more than a glamorized pyramid scheme with products for sale on the side.
    Be more careful with orders

I worked at Avon Products full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They are on trend for makeup and jewelry.

    Cons

Avon’s culture is based on the representative experience. Representatives who were high up on the leadership board always knew more than us actual employees. Dangle the carrot incentives. Lack of leadership from management. Lack of transparency in communications with employees.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck maintaining representative count.

Resistant to change and constantly struggling to make an outdated business model relevant in today's competitive consumer market.
Large company with many inefficient processes.
