I worked at Avon Products (More than a year)

    Pros

The good thing about Avon there is never a dull moment with there catalogs there's always something new.

    Cons

There are new thing's in your catalog every month they keep you and the customer interested in wanting to go for more.

    Advice to Management

If the customer does not deliver on taking there order that is already shipped and made you have to pay for it if they do not want it.

    Pros

I was able to see what new items were coming up. As long as my orders were $50 or more, I would get a little profit.

    Cons

Avon changed their profit margins. You now need to have $50 in orders to be able to get any profit. Profits are used to buy brochures and outlets. Avon also allows too many Reps in each town...there should be a limit.

    Advice to Management

Limit the number of Reps per town or city. Allow Reps to get profits on any sales amount.

I worked at Avon Products full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed the company vehicle and the gas card. There were also perks of an Assistant and a fund for meetings. I managed over 400 Representatives in my area but many did not put in orders. And you were reviewed on your orders and the number of new representatives that signed up.

    Cons

The job was all about getting new Representatives and keeping them selling Avon products. A lot of little jobs to do and sales meetings to plan. You had to meet with anyone who signed up on the internet and often times the person would not show for the meeting.

    Advice to Management

Keep it simple. Too much paperwork and little tasks to do.

I worked at Avon Products full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Self paced and scheduled. Your own boss. Cool products usually. Ability to take time off whenever.

    Cons

Always out of stock for rep orders, customer service isn't American, pyramid scheme basically. Pay is not consistent.

    Advice to Management

Focus on helping people sell instead of always trying to put more people on management and sign people up like a giant pyramid scheme.
