I have been working at Avon as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    Discounts on AVON products
Run your business anyway you wish
    Online eCommerce website for free
Potential to earn extra cash if you live in a large city

    Cons

Dependent on your location and population of the area
Books are expensive and you must buy every 2 weeks
If you don't go door to door with books you don't make customers
People just are not interested in AVON anymore this day in age
Representatives pay shipping on every one of their orders no matter what size
Unless you have SEO or online marketing experience and a LOT of free time, you will not make money selling AVON
In order to get any incentives you must have a downline

    Advice to Management

Give reps free shipping and books.

I've been with AVON for over 30 years and have enjoyed every minute. I have won trips and prizes and every campaign is just opening up Christmas!

    Cons

Sometimes it is hard to contact customer service, but the problem always seem to be resolved

I have been working at Avon part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

When I contact the product department I have always been helped, plus informed when a product will be discontinued.

Had many health concerns recently they worked with me on invoice that was overdue

    Work part-time or full-time when I want

    Cons

The automated phone system needs to be tweaked a little more

    Advice to Management

Send out trial sizes of products when representatives request versus sampke packets.

Made your own hours and was able to get any demo you liked.

No route. Increase in cost of items. Hard to collect from some of customers. Had to pay to ship back items.

    Advice to Management

Cover the cost of shipping on items to be returned.

I worked at Avon part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice way to make money when you have no other choice.
    Good bonuses
    Nice sign on bonus

    Cons

Too many errors with orders but the factory
    Representatives don’t earn a lot
Only one item per month is extremely cheap for representatives.
Most of the money is to be made from recruiting others and not selling
    Not enough incentives .
Almost got a recruit stolen by my district manager because she wanted the bonus
Sometimes hard to collect money from customers
    Return shipping is too expensive
The attire did not consider smaller figured women and styles were not very trendy

    Advice to Management

    Look into current fashion trends.
    Appreciate your representatives .
Avon had become nothing more than a glamorized pyramid scheme with products for sale on the side.
    Be more careful with orders
