I worked at Avondale Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good ER experience, good name to put on resume, good exposure to institutional/buy-side clients
    - Small firm allows for interactions with senior management, sales, and clients-facing positions
    - Great group of analysts, friendly, approachable, and very helpful

    Cons

    - Business is tough (morale could be low at times), but business seems to have picked up towards the back-half
    - Earnings season could be rough at times but is just part of the job (i.e. 6am - 11pm for 2 weeks+)
    - Compensation could be better

    Advice to Management

    - It's a tough business, keep at it!

I have been working at Avondale Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not as demanding as a larger firm or bulge bracket
Nashville is pretty cool, and no where near as congested as some of the larger cities like NY or Chicago
Pretty laid back atmosphere, business casual dress, open door policy
Freedom to go your own direction
Good place to get started and learn

    Cons

Revenues have been declining ever since I joined.
    Lots of turnover
Excess overhead. There are areas with duplicative managerial roles.
Pay is sub par, but ok considering Nashville isn't terribly expensive to live in
Only two toilets in the office with ~50 guys makes it tough to get a seat when needed.
Focused pretty heavily on healthcare, makes expanding coverage in other industries more challenging

    Advice to Management

There are likely areas where you could add value by eliminating or replacing some people

I worked at Avondale Partners part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Experience.
Senior Management is very good at letting you see full circle what they do and how they do it. Honestly awesome/enjoyable team, the atmosphere in the offices is a bit depressing though.

    Cons

As an intern we received no compensation.

    Pros

Great exposure to the industry and lots of interesting research projects. Extensive opportunity to talk to senior managers and industry specialists.

    Cons

Nashville may not be the most ideal place if you want to work in the finance service sector. Relatively less industry coverage and especially for someone not seeking for healthcare related sectors.

    Advice to Management

Great management team and very nice people. I really don't have much advice in terms of the management. Very good experience.
