Good place to start your career and make connections

      Pros

Nice offices You will make a lot of connections quickly Beer fridge Fridays

      Cons

Lots of people start here straight out of university which has created quite an immature and cliquey environment The "social" culture is more like being back at school and not representative of working cultures at other companies Very high turnover of staff If you're an account manager you will be given a ridiculous work load to manage Training is quite irrelevant to people coming from external companies No exposure to other marketing channels so you can't really develop your marketing experience in anything other than affiliates Team Leaders and Account Directors will go to meetings with your clients that you won't be included in but you're expected to do all the ground work Not encouraged to do face to face meetings which isn't good for promoting good relationships You're a glorified PA to the clients and don't get to do any actual marketing Very poor pay

Thanks for your feedback, I am sorry you didn't have such a great experience at Awin. We like to provide employees with a relaxed working environment and promote a fun social culture where possible for all employees. Improvements have been made internally at Awin with our new training platform being implemented. It is key for staff members to have the support they need from their supervisors so I am sorry you feel you did not have this available to you during your time with us. If you would like to share specific examples please contact our HR team to discuss this further.

a company that resembles a high school club

Dec 19, 2014 - Senior Account Manager in London, England

      Pros

great people - that is undeniable, as well as a good introduction to the industry and foot in the door for further opportunities.

      Cons

training is practically non existent and if you are lucky to be thrown into a new position (due to the high turnover) expect very little guidance and support. Great if you are extremely pro-active however given the little training and precarious position of some accounts (bear in mind you may be the 4th person working on that account that year), most are left to sink or swim which means there is an accepted culture of working unpaid overtime and weekends in an already underpaid role. It is not uncommon to see a significant number of people working until 8-10pm weekdays and on weekends. Workload is not balanced well between teams and there are very questionable ethics amongst some who work there. I would not recommend this company based on the fact that internally career progression lacks structure and management does not support their employees needs. Working at Affiliate Window resembles life at university, with support from cliques which you may or may not pertain to except assignments incur profit loss or gains, and you weren't ever given a coursebook..

Thanks for your review, I am sorry you would not recommend Affiliate Window as an employer. Training is really important to us, we have a full program of training for new and existing staff which I hope helps new staff settle into their roles and existing staff to continue their development. Some senior roles do require a high level of ability but I will speak to management to make sure senior hires do not get overlooked for on-boarding and training.

      Pros

      - Company Culture: Affiliate window is a really fun and friendly place to work. All the employees are nice and take the time to. This is a fast paced environment, so working here is never boring. Work also finishes at four on Fridays! - Benefits: There are a range of benefits and perks, such as travel insurance and subsidized gym memberships. The free snacks and fruit baskets were also very popular! - Training: The company provide many different types of training opportunities for their employees; including first aid and excel training. The company really try to focus on the development of their employees' skills and competencies.

      Cons

      - Employees are expected to work hard; which can mean longer hours. - Salaries could be higher. - High turnover.

      - Fun work vibe - very social atmosphere - lots of benefits, bonuses, staff parties etc. - rarely work out of normal hours/overtime - fairly good heirachy system to move up the ranks quickly.

      Cons

      - high turnover - moderate salary - split over two floors, segregates teams.

      Pros

      - Relaxed and fun atmosphere - Good for getting yourself some experience - Benefits aren't bad

      Cons

      - Poor salary, the word BUDGET is thrown around a lot! - Mis-sold progression aspirations - Very high turnover rate - First thing I heard from the execs "We do not expect you to finish your career here" - Hiring a lot of interns to do the same job, which devalues your position - Poor leadership - People are only "promoted" if they know the right people, NEVER on merit! - Certain staff members use the system to their advantage and "work" from home
